We have stayed here several times and this was the most disappointing cabin we have ever been in. It was dirty and damaged. We know they generally do an excellent job so we will visit again. Always great staff.

The cabin was very homey it definitely was a great camping expirence bath house was near by and neighbors were spaced out so nobody was around each other and made everything great. The pool was great each of the lakes and the staff was very friendly and helpful during our stay

When I called the office before going there she was able to give me a lot of amenities in and around the the properties and in towns and it's surrounding towns the office was very friendly looking forward to going but then we got there and the beans in the cabin were full of cobwebs and dust the dishes were not clean full of dust the smell from stagnant water in the campground was horrendous and ants all over everything not just my cabin but also the cabin that I rented for my parents we did complain about the answer we did have to take back our coffee pot as it was leaking if this property was taken care of correctly it would be a beautiful property staff was friendly and even helpful when giving ideas of where to go shopping and which museums to go to but this place is not clean it is not kept and it stinks I would not go back I will not go back and if I could get my money back I would for both cabins I know I have 1,500 words but I don't think I could say it more precisely the place is dirty it stinks the water or the ponds are stagnant cobwebs everywhere dirty dishes please oh and when we went to the office to grab some groceries I went to go look at prices and the UPC is on each one of the items were not matching perfectly straight rows UPC numbers were not matching the product in front of them bad for a grocery store to do that sorry won't go back there's no way

We were so disappointed in the cleanliness of the cabins and cottage. There were spiders in both loft beds in both cabins, ants in the kitchens of both cabins, and a pile of dirt left in the middle of the room of one. $70 to rent linens for 2 nights was excessive and $300 for 2 golf carts for less than 48 hours is excessive. We loved the atmosphere and idea but the buildings are in need of a lot of repairs. For the money, I would have expected clean rooms and floors. Staff were very friendly and activities for kids are great. We are still waiting for a large refund for an unauthorized chart for someone else’s room and cannot seem to get that done after 3 phone calls.

We absolutely love how affordable and family friendly Basswood Resort is. They have fun activities everyday for all ages, among there many fishing ponds, swimming pool, playgrounds, dog park, nature trails and so on. We will be making yearly trips here😀

If you have kids, this is the place to be!!!! Activities throughout the day were amazing-and the activities’ staff were out of this world. Kenna was the absolute best and helped us out beyond what is ever expected of a staff member. A heads up though, when we checked out at 11, my 3 kids(3months, 1, and 9) and I had our things and figured we could wait about an hour at the central hub(pool, activities center/store) for my husband to get back with the van. But we were told we had to take our things and leave; we couldn’t wait for him at the store, which left us in quite the bind. Once again, thank you Kenna for the human decency and offering a solution:) The bedroom curtains in the Truman suite are sheer, so be prepared for an early morning and my son didn’t get a fish to bite in 45 minutes, so take that with a grain of salt haha There were a couple nails that need to be hammered back down on the ramp to our suite and birds in the roof- but it was fun watching them! Linens being provided was great but you might want to bring your own towels still.
