Charming apartment in perfect location

This charming apartment is within walking distance of many attractions and an easy bus ride to others. We loved everything about it except for the steep stairs that lead to the second floor sleeping area. There isn't a bathroom on this floor so it can feel a bit treacherous using the bathroom in the middle of the night.

The house was very spacious. Interaction with the host before our arrival was minimal. The neighborhood was fairly isolated and there was not even a convenience store nearby. It was within walking distance of a number of sights.Layout of the house was not ideal, especially for older visitors with some mobility issues. Sleeping area was up a fairly steep narrow stairway, without a bathroom on the same floor. We ended up moving the futon downstairs into the living room and slept on the floor there, which worked out well. There also was no storage space, so no place to unpack a bag and hang up or stow clothing. We were in Kanazawa for 6 nights, so this was also inconvenient, and seemingly unnecessary as their were a number of closets, all designated for staff use only.

Apartment had not been dusted for quite a long time. The back garden is a disgrace with litter and weeds. Lighting in the living room is poor and the main living room light bulb had failed.
