Excellent property!Needed some time to calm my mind and the balcony with the awesome view, and the ocean sounds were exactly what the doctor ordered.This is also very close to many restaurants and shops. So highly convenient as well.

Amazing views

Such a great find! Will definitely try to request this unit If I ever visit Kona. Spacious for 2 guests, clean, all amenities plus extra! Surprisingly quiet, stayed during spring break. Would highly recommend!

Kona Kai 201

Property was clean and organized. View from lanai was very good for sunsets. Room has a/c which was a plus. The mattress was new and very comfortable. The bathroom and sink area is small but functional. Laundry was in a separate area which requires quarters to operate. Was very close to downtown Kailua village.

The lanai makes this place!

We love this complex as it makes Kailua town totally walkable. While this unit is comparable to others, having the wrap around lanai so beautifully furnished had us sitting out there all day--morning coffee, conversations, reading, and watching the fabulous sunsets!

Spectacular views

Condo was great. The views and sound of the waves crashing was amazing and just what my soul needed. The beach towels, cooler, chairs and boogie boards were awesome. Cindi was clean and and in good working condition. We loved the the location. I’d definitely stay here again!

Great vacation

We enjoyed our stay a lot. The balcony with sea views was the main thing for us. But other than that, the place was clean; the kitchen worked great, and we were happy about everything.

Beautiful corner condo

Enjoyed our stay! Loved the ocean view! The indoor and outdoor furniture were very comfortable. Perfect for a couple or small family. The air conditioner worked fantastic! I would definitely stay again, and highly recommend it.

Beautiful views

We practically lived on the balcony. We saw dolphins and whales, tang fish, crabs and eels, and gorgeous sunsets. The kitchen was well equipped and the bed and furniture comfortable. There was an issue with the pipes,which caused problems with the toilet, then the dishwasher, then the air-conditioning. Nice, clean, great views and location. Plenty towels and hot water. We play tennis at Royal Kona Resort. Samsung tv nice. Linens nice. Could use a clock, usb ports in some electrical outlets. Front door sticks bad. Hard to find quarters for laundry, a change machine or credit card system would be desirable. Instructions to operate tv in bedroom would be nice. A blender would be nice. Never heard from manager.

Oceanside Retreat

Great oceanfront property. Sitting on the lanei offered views of ocean life and spectacular sunsets. The condo was well equipped and offered all the comforts of home. The property was centrally located to Kona Town, restaurants and shopping with easy access to major roadways on the Big Island. We would definitely stay in this condo in the future. Mahalo

Fabulous location!

What an amazing location! Right on the beach, we were able to look down to the tide pools and the sea from our lanai and saw turtles come in to feed every day, lovely bonus! The apartment needs some updating, but overall it was clean and comfortable and is just a short walk into the center of Kona. Also loved having a dedicated covered parking space so the car didn't get overly hot!

Great views

Great location, right above the water. Easy walking to all the restaurants and shops of Kona, while not getting stuck in traffic on the main drag. Close, covered parking location. The condo was nicely furnished and had most everything I needed. They could use soy sauce and some condiments for the fridge. In general it was a relaxing stay and just what I wanted.

Better Than Ever

I've stayed in this unit in the past as it is cozy, convenient and quiet. But on my most recent visit I found that it has gone through a complete renovation with a new tile bathroom, new kitchen with quartz countertops new appliances and new cabinetry. The lanai has been upgraded as well which makes for great morning cups of coffee and sunset cocktails. Its a small point but the assigned parking spot is directly under the unit which makes lugging suitcases and shopping bags easy. The rental agents, Taina and Tracy, are on site and helpful and very committed to insuring their guests have a worry free visit.

Week's stay in Kona

View was phenomenal! Enjoyed our time in the unit. Things that kept it from being better than good was the front door sticks badly, and the AC still leaves things extremely wet. Yes, I know it's humid, but AC should pull out more of the humidity than this unit does. We did not use the individual units in the living room or bedroom, only the main AC unit.

Great locstion with gorgeous view

This is an unbelievable location in Kona on the rocky beach. Constant waves breaking close-up to the resort make for mesmerizing entertainment. Hale Kona Kai has a nice-sized pool, a great propane grill, and laundry facilities, and it's a short walk from the Kona bars and restaurants. This unit was well supplied with all the amenities you can think of. This place would have gotten 5 stars except for repeated reviews with complaints about the front door that sticks so bad you can hardly open it and has no deadbolt and the bed which creaks, cracks and groans everytime you move to the point of waking us up. These items need to be fixed and then all your reviews would be 5 stars. Great place!

Kailua Kona Breathtaking Views

My wife and I love a great view. Our unit at Hale Kona Kai is one of the world’s best we have experienced. It compares with places we have stayed in Santorini, Paris, Rome, San Francisco, LakeTahoe, and Niagra Falls. We also love restaurants. This unit is a short walk (minutes) to everything from oceanfront fine dining to tiki bars with local fresh caught fish tacos. The unit was very comfortable for us. Any needs we had were responded to promptly. The unit provided all the equipment and tools we are used to having in our home kitchen to make gourmet meals to wine time snacks we enjoyed while watching daily glorious sunsets on our balcony watching the waves crash into the lava rocks directly below us. The view and location were very nice and as depicted, however security of the door security was poor, lock was falling off., the noise from construction was much greater than then indicated by ad, several days of jack hammering concrete on the room adjacent isn't acceptable, nether is the lack of running water during construction, basically the pool was off limits do to the construction, a consistent parade of workers walking by my girlfriend at the pool learning meant 20 minutes of pool time during a seven day stay.. Additionally, the credit received I do not feel was enough to compensate for the situation.

Relaxing week in Kailua Kona

This property is situated literally right off the oceanfront as waves hit the shore below the lanai. The location is within walking distance to numerous shops and restaurants, but would advise renting a car to enjoy other eateries in the area. The condo has air conditioning which was appreciated although the summer temperatures weren't oppressive. The living area including sofa, table with two chairs, and a kitchen with the essentials was fine to meet our needs, and the separate bedroom with comfortable king bed was nice. Picture window in the bedroom also overlooks the ocean. The bathroom is small, but adequate. The condo wifi wasn't working well, but we made-do without it. I was able to access the room key through the lockbox with code when we arrived, but trying to place it back into the lockbox when we departed was a struggle, so we left the key in the condo and left a message with the property manager. Overall, we had a very relaxing, pleasant stay in Kailua-Kona. This property isn't the lap of luxury, but does make for a very comfortable stay in Kona and the location can't be beat - Mahalo!

Amazing condo! You have to stay here!!

I was so thoroughly immediately impressed with this condo as soon as I opened the door. What unbelievable views!!!! From the lanai off of the living room and from the bedroom windows! Honestly, as soon as you open the front door, the view takes your breath away. They did a phenomenal job on the remodel. Everything you need. and more is provided. High quality beach items are available. The pool area has breathtaking views and the pool is extremely clean. I will definitely stay here again and I've already recommended this condo to family and friends.

Condo has a beautiful balcony, which was really the highlight. This is an older building, which was noticeable in some areas. The portable air conditioning worked well, but the installation allowed a lot of outside sounds. Perfectly located for walks into town to go to restaurants and shops. Had wonderful views of sunsets and surfing.
