2 Bedroom 2 Bath Upgraded Oceanfront Penthouse

You have just found your own penthouse on the top ocean front corner with panoramic ocean views from every room. Be sure to see the Virtual Video Tour. The link is the arrow or partial image to the left of the main picture above. This is one of only of a few two bedroom units that has air conditioning throughout. Why suffer with just a wall unit in the living room (like other condos), when you can have air in both bedrooms as well as the living room?

Sit back and enjoy the spectacular, crystal blue and balmy Pacific Ocean from your large private lanai with tide pools just 30 feet away.

This 2 bedroom ocean front unit is on the north corner of the top floor of the D building. This unit has the advantage of being cooler than many other units and experiences cooling, balmy breezes. There are side windows in the dining room, kitchen and each of the bedrooms, providing natural lighting and a cross breeze. There is an air conditioner, although with the good breezes it is usually not needed.

Comfortable sleeping for up to 6 persons, there is a king size bed in the master bedroom, and a king size bed in the second bedroom, and a queen sleeper/sofa bed in the living room. TV's are in the living room and each of the bedrooms.

Also positioned right next to the shoreline, the Resort’s recently renovated salt water pool and Jacuzzi is just a few steps away from the unit itself; as well as the four immaculately-maintained gas barbecues in the dining cabana adjacent to the pool. That is a great place to BBQ dinner, and watch the beautiful Kona Sunsets.

Complete convenience, Hawaiian style! The Kona Reef is on the edge of Kona town, so you do not have to drive every time you want to go into town. You can walk to town in just a few minutes, and visit numerous restaurants, shops and the farmers market. It is really one of the most convenient locations in Kailua-Kona.

This private condominium has everything you need for an unforgettable Hawaiian experience. It is fully furnished including dishwasher, washer/dryer, small appliances, hair dryer, dishes, utensils and linens. It includes dish washing soap, dish washer soap and a starter box of detergent. It is your own personal, tropical beach hideaway!

Our availability calendar is always up to date, and we have multiple units available at the Kona Reef. We have four 2 bedroom units, six 1 bedroom ocean front units, and twelve 1 bedroom ocean view units. With multiple units, if this or another is not available for the dates you want, one of our others probably is.

Fantastic view

We have stayed here several times! Love the view of the ocean, location, and the new floors and king-size beds. The decor is beautiful and it was nice to have a cooler, pool noodles, beach chairs, and a well equipped kitchen.

Fantastic location

We enjoyed our stay and hated to leave. Location is very close to dining and other attractions. Our daily routine was to walk to the pier and back. Highly recommend staying here again.

Beautiful Condo

Stayed here for a week, 2 couples plenty of room for all of us. Beds comfy, kitchen had everything to make meals barbq in common area were very clean!! Spent a lot of time on the Lanai Sunsets were Gorgeous! Miss the sound of the waves!! Would stay here again in a heartbeat ❤️

Beautiful view

This property was clean and has a beautiful ocean view. The unit has plenty of amenities for all the rooms and beach gear. The lanai has very nice furniture and is perfect for watching the sunsets, surfers and whales. It is close to town and is a short walk to a farmers market, shops and restaurants. Free parking is definitely a bonus.

Excellent experience

Our family enjoyed this apartment thoroughly. Everything was as mentioned in the description. Location was fantastic with a view to the sea; impeccable. We knew that there wasn’t a beach to swim in front of us so there’s nothing to say about it. It was nice to walk on the lava stones that’s the shore, but it’s impossible to swing there at least not for tourists. We enjoyed watching the surfers every morning and watching the waves. We actually stayed while we had that tsunami warning and the manager Kenneth even sent us immediately a message what we could consider doing. That was very much appreciated. Apartment amenities are super. There are lots of things for the beach that one could use. Dishwasher and washing machine are working well and the beds are very comfortable. Internet connection is super fast. Thank you and if we were to come back, we would certainly choose the same place.

Amazing view!

We enjoyed our stay very much. The decor was beautiful and very roomy for 2 couples. Nice to have a table for game playing. Well equipped kitchen. Plenty of stuff to use at the beach...cooler, umbrella, chairs, noodles, sand toys, etc. And plenty of sunscreen that people left behind. Location was great with short walk to town.

The view never gets old

We stayed here for Ironman week. We've stayed at other Kona Reef properties for race week in the past because it's walking distance to the pier. The view is just amazing but I would say that the unit needs some updates and some repairs. The screen door, shower door and closet door all fell off the tracks. The A/C went out while we were there but I will say the property manager got on it right away and it was fixed the same day. The kitchen is functional but we couldn't figure out why you would have 3 or 4 sets of flatware but not a single measuring device in the place. We ended up buying measuring cups and spoons at Target. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The view never gets old!

Kona wonder!

We stayed a week and couldn't have picked a better place to enjoy the Big Island. The unit is exceptionally clean and very well maintained. The patio view of the ocean is steps away and absolutely breathtaking. We will definitely opt to stay here again when we visit Kona. We ran into one problem involving the air conditioners that went unreported by the previous renters. Upon our notification to the owner, he made every effort to get it resolved quickly and made arrangements to bring in emergency room air conditioners until the parts for the main air conditioner could arrive. This is the kind of owner you want to rent from! Note: Although there is an elevator available, this unit is on the top floor and the elevator stops a few steps below the walkway level. Might present a problem for someone wheelchair bound. Other than that you can't go wrong with this rental!

Anniversary trip

We loved Kona and loved the property. Excellent property manager, communication, great parking, convenient location.I gave 4 stars b/c mild musty smell (went away as soon as we opened up some doors), some of the things like couch cushions, cabana pad, coffee pot and bath towels need replacing, and the microwave was a little dirty. Comfortable beds, clean bathrooms, kitchen with good cooking amenities, but by far and away the best was the lanai, the ocean sounds, the sunsets, and the view!

Perfect Location

This is a perfect location and condo as its just a short walk to resturants and stores, etc.Loved the condo itself. I fell asleep every night to the sound of the waves hitting the shore, so relaxing. And the deck on third floor has incredible views on the ocean. We are going to stay here again.

Amazing Ocean view

We loved the view. We ate on the balcony and loved watching the surfers and waves. The condo is walking distance to downtown Kona with plenty of places to eat. The kitchen has everything you need to cook in addition to four BBQ's near the pool. The pool is small and very nice. There are a lot of retired residents who are at the pool most of the day that live there. The A/C worked great in the two bedrooms and living room. They had a boogie board, chairs, board games, cards. The snorkel gear is very limited...I recommend you bring or buy your own. The condo could use a good deep cleaning session. The two kings were nice. All three televisions worked. We had a great stay.

Great view and location. The kitchen was well appointed with a lot of spices and different food items that made cooking dinner much easier. We didn’t have to buy every ingredient.

We stayed here for 2 weeks during the Iron Man World Championships, and it couldnt have been any greater. Location was excellent. Our kids loved the pool. The beach toys, chairs, and snorkels/masks were great to have. Kitchen had everything we needed and we loved the pay iy forward cupboard.

50 yr anniversary

My husband and Ichose this condo based on the description, and were not disappointed a bit. It's beautiful, clean, comfortable, and the perfect location. We had a total of 19 family members come to celebrate with us, 5 of us stayed at this property, and we by far chose the best. The owner was quick to get back to us with questions before our stay. We highly recommend this property.

Kona condo beachfront

The unit is just like the pictures. The complex is very nice with beautiful pool/spa and BBQ area. It is an easy few minutes' walk into Kona town but is still quiet. There is a nice surfer beach just south of the complex that is very nice. Good surf many surfers.

We’ve stayed at the Kona reef probably close to 15 times over the years in various units and enjoyed them all ,but this unite’s overall decor was simply beautiful,..almost afraid to walk on the teak flooring when first entering the unit lol Very well appointed with everything you’d need for your visit ., we both agreed that overall d-38 was our favorite unit to date .,very clean and inviting. We loved the privacy and views of the 4 th floor lanai . Hope we get to stay here again next year !! Thanks for having us !!
