"Very quaint and historic property in the heart of Monnickedam. The room was lovely. Old world with modern fixtures. Just FYI, no elevator so request ground floor if you need to. I enjoyed my stay very much. The staff was very nice and helpful. Lots of restaurants in walking distance. Short walk to the bus that can take you to Volendam or Amsterdam within 20 minutes"

"It was in a great, peaceful place on a canal. It was so peaceful and walking distance to everything. Easy bus ride into Amsterdam and Volendam/Marken. The Host and staff were very friendly, and very helpful. The breakfast was perfect to start the day. Would highly recommend."

"We've stayed in B & Bs all over the world, but this has to be one of the top we've ever visited. The cottage was spotless, the gardens lovely, the location ideal (quaint and peaceful yet very easy access to Amsterdam) and the hosts, Klaas and Marianna, were as good as they come - friendly, responsive, excellent communicators, and just wonderful people. Highly recommend! "

"I can't begin to describe how lovely this cottage is. Located next to the hosts' home at the edge of town. The patio is right on the canal, beautiful and quiet, perfect place to enjoy a coffee or watch the birds. House is very cute and comfortable and the hosts were accommodating. Note that the washing machine is not in the cottage but is in the hosts' home - they very kindly washed a load of laundry for us and hung it out to dry. The bikes were a fantastic inclusion to help us explore the area (which I highly recommend), but could benefit from some maintenance."

"The house was furnished comfortably but the 3 bedroom was up a steep flight of stairs rather than ground level. Restaurants nearby and a few minutes walk into Volendam where there are further choices of bars and restaurants. Everything worked well with check-in on a smartphone. The app to use the key was very slow on my phone. Small pack provided with a bin liner, some washing up liquid and cloth. Very easy to catch bus to Amsterdam Central Station with couple of minutes walk to the bus stop. Create an OVpay account for the busses and other transport. Over 65's can register their age on the account for a discount."
