"The hotel has a superb location of 11 acres alongside the river Tweed. Ample car parking, outdoor seating, very close to Dryberg Abbey and with historical roots, the house has great character. It is spacious and comfortable throughout with two lounges and virtually all day catering. Obviously with a hotel of this history and size there are areas which need renovation. Our room was spacious, the bed comfortable and the en suite likewise but the TV didn't work, which was not a problem for us. The breakfast was excellent offering a wide range of choices and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Overall we were very pleased with the hotel. It was good value and very convenient for touring the Scottish borders. We recommend it and are likely to return."
"A rather old fashioned and somewhat dowdy hotel. Our room was somewhat antique, but clean with a modern bathroom. There were large windows and a glass door from outside into the room. We had to try several windows to find one that was open. There were large floor to ceiling curtains that were difficult to draw and did not properly cut out the outside light. There were few amenities provided in the room, limited toiletries, no bottled water, etc. There is a car park but we only managed to squeeze in using the electric charger space which was broken as there was limited space. Overall it was OK but gave the impression of being somewhat uncared for."
"This hotel is in an amazing location and the views are stunning. The food, staff, grounds and pool etc were what definitely what makes this hotel a 4 star. The room however was rough round the edges with threadbare carpet, holes on the armchairs, bed base pretty rough and the TV unable to get basic channels. The bathroom was beautiful and the room was really clean. It just needs investment but it is huge!

"Had great two night stay with partner and dog. Staff very friendly and room very clean. Excellent breakfast ideally situated for exploring kielder and scottish borders. Will definitely return ."
"Well placed position for walking round the town. Friendly welcome. Clean and comfortable room. Could have done with a handle in the shower. Can preferred for meal payment."
"Excellent stay when here for an evening wedding party. Booked a meal ( only had 1 course) for before party, which was excellent, very good service too. Drink prices quite high, but I suppose should be expected as is a wedding venue. Breakfast was nice, but had to ask for extra coffee( for 4) twice before getting. Also had to ask for toast as not offered when taking food orders. Poor selection of fruit available and no Greek yogurt even though on menu. For breakfast servings, May I suggest that you offer filtered coffee instead of that from a commercial coffee machine, which would save time .
Would certainly stay again should another wedding invitation, for the venue, be received."
