For families, the village of Itzum offers a more residential feel with easier access to local amenities and a more relaxed pace. It's a nicely kept area with parks and local shops. Staying here provides a comfortable base from which to explore the castle and the wider region, without being directly in the tourist hub.

The best time to go to Itzum-Marienburg for a comfortable and enjoyable visit is during the late spring, summer, and early autumn months, specifically from May to September.

During these months, the weather is generally mild and pleasant, with average temperatures ranging from 15°C to 25°C. You'll find longer daylight hours, providing ample time for sightseeing and activities.

Couples looking for a romantic getaway will particularly appreciate June and July. The castle gardens are often in full bloom, creating a beautiful backdrop for strolls and photographs. There are also frequent outdoor events and concerts held at the castle during this peak season, offering entertainment in the evenings.

Families travelling with children will find August to be an excellent choice. The weather is typically at its warmest, superb for outdoor adventures, and many local festivals or children's activities might be scheduled. The longer daylight hours also mean more time for exploring without rushing.

While the winter months can be picturesque with potential snow, many attractions might have reduced hours, and the colder weather could limit outdoor activities.
