Our family of 6 (3 adults, 3 kids ages 3-71) had rented this property for 37 days. It was rented 3 months in advance and full deposit had been accepted. Unfortunately when we had trouble getting ahold of the owner about any move-in instructions, we had to call VRBO. Two hours before check-in VRBO informed us that the property was no longer available, because the owner hadn’t appropriately been managing and monitoring his VRBO bookings! Obviously we were disappointed and empty handed. It took an extra $7,000 shelled out for new lodging (at inflated last-minute prices) and 2 hotel rooms for the first 2 nights. VRBO committed to reimbursing us the extra amount, but it has been 5 weeks and we are still waiting. So we would not recommend taking the risk of renting this property due to unreliable owner. If you do, have an emergency fund and backup plan in case the same thing that happened to us happens to you.
