Reunion of old HB natives
I'm a 66 yr old female who lives in Arizona. I rented the property for 6 nights because of its location close to pier, shops, restaurants. It was comfortable & accommodating. The first 3 nights I was joined by my brother and sister. We grew up in HB but scattered after high school. Now in our 60's, this was our first time together in decades without partners or children in tow. It was really special to have this time together. We visited old friends, hit the beach, got caught up on our lives. The 4th night I was alone in the house, took a quiet walk along the beach, sat under the pier, listened to the waves, reconnected with the Mother Pacific. I used to surf, another lifetime ago. The 5th and 6th nights I was joined by my high school best friends; a reunion of women who hadn't all been together in about 50 years. We all graduated from Marina High School in the early 70's. We ate out, talked until dawn, visited some of our old haunts. The house was a great home base for the visits described above. For the price, working fans in the bedrooms would have been nice and the bed linens need replacing/refreshing. The TVs and bikes didn't get used, but we enjoyed having beach chairs, boogie boards, and an umbrella. Only 3 meals were eaten in the house the whole week and all three were prepared in advance and just warmed up or thrown on the BBQ, which worked fine. The last morning, cleaning up before leaving, I ran the garbage disposal and discovered the drain was clogged, although it had been draining fine the prior evening. We never used the dishwasher. I reported the clogged drain to the owner and a plumber was sent out after we'd left. Evidently the drain was clogged with chicken and rice. We had no chicken or rice during the week and I suspect the drain was clogged prior to our visit but didn't back up until some accumulation of our light bit of waste went down that last morning. Regardless, I was charged for the plumber. Only real complaint was the noise issue. Constant daily jack hammer in the alley behind the house and leaf blowers going at neighboring homes (and this one) almost every day. It was noisy for sure but it goes with the territory and out of the owner's control. It's not a quiet neighborhood either way, being so close to PCH , Main St., the pier. Fairly noisy into the wee hours on any given night during the summer months. I used to live only a block from this house, so I knew what to expect. This is probably the last time I'll re-

Nice location for beach access
The house was perfect size, great location for walking to beach and restaurants and shops. Unfortunately there were a lot of homeless on the street and area so we didn’t want our teens walking to and from beach. The ac didn’t work for us and the upstairs got warm. The garage door opener was missing and it was a bit of a pain to get into house while having to park in back with no way in. The garage code was updated on our second day which was easier access. Beds were comfortable and bathrooms were nice minus not having any hand soap in any.

Spacious, clean house in walking distance to beach and restaurants
The house is spacious, clean and well furnished. The beds are comfortable. It's only a short walk to the beach and restaurants and shops. We had a great time!

Perfect for family holiday!
Great house in the perfect location! Walking distance to everywhere we wanted to go. House was clean and exactly as displayed in photos. Beds were very comfortable, linens were great, living areas worked perfectly for family gatherings. The front bedroom was quite noisy at night with windows open. All the other bedrooms were quiet and guests slept great! Wish the owners had supplied ample paper products for entire stay. Hate having to go back to store for paper towels, toilet paper, kleenex, etc.

Thanks Kim. In the check in instructions we do let you know there are only 2 sets of paper products. For large groups you need to stock up when you go shopping, which you can do at the store 1 block away. Thanks and we hope you come again.

Comfortable, clean, and spacious
Our family was pleasantly surprised by this beautiful rental. The proximity to drug store, restaurants, shopping, the beach and pier was amazing. Our kids really enjoyed the games and puzzles (note to puzzlers: there are 9 pieces missing in the 550-piece Mario puzzle). The only thing I didn't like was the clear glass on the main bedroom's shower. But we put a blanket up to solve that problem (lots of family always wandering around gets awkward). Lots of pots and pans (not always the case in rentals). We unintentionally visited during the Great Pacific Air Show and enjoyed the heck out of it! Thanks for the great place!

Family reunion
Overall good. Single thermostat in kitchen for 3 floors made it a little difficult to regulate temp. Needs maintenance . Numerous burned out bulbs. Hinge on kitchen cabinet. door broken so door not useable,. Has whole house sound system but no instructions. Patio plastic furniture has numerous cracks in stress areas. Can pinch skin if not careful. Grill need terminal cleaning.

Hello James, Thank you for your review. We had the hinge repaired on the small cabinet in the kitchen but with all of the other storage I do not fee that it was much of an issue. Lights are all replaced with LED bulbs to save on electricity and I will inspect the patio furniture. As for the heating. this home has multiple fireplaces downstairs, in the TV room and in the master bedroom, did you try using any of those? The instructions for the sound system are in the welcome guide in the TV room. I will try to make those more visible. Great Location in Surf City!
Our family of 8 spent a week at this unit. There was plenty of room for all of us. Communication with Mike was quick and easy from time of booking, through our stay. Mike even stopped by on check in day to make sure we were all set. The house is very large with high end finishes. We did find a lot of bugs, which hadn't been reported in other reviews; but bought some spray at the store to keep them at bay. There is no AC in the house, but we were still comfortable with open windows and fans. We never felt too warm. Walking to beach, shopping, restaurants was 5 minutes. A large grocery store is less than 2 miles away. There are plenty of boogie boards, beach toys, umbrellas, etc. that we took advantage of and really enjoyed. Also, we arranged to rent some bikes from Mike (at a lower rate than bike rental services around town) and they were in the garage when we arrived. All in all this is a very nice house in a great location.

Perfect Location!
My family of 9 rented this property for a week in August, 2017. The location is fantastic for walking to the beach, stores and restaurants. We loved the beach and Sanchos Tacos right next door. There were plenty of beach towels and umbrellas at the house. We requested extra beach chairs, which were delivered. The house is very large and comfortable. It was clean and the bathrooms were good for showers. One bedroom is more appropriate for children with 3 twin beds. We called it the dorm room! At night the upper bunk was very hot. However, there were fans in every room that helped with the heat and noise. There were some issues with flies on the front porch. Not sure what type of vegetation may have caused that. We spent more time on the third floor patio. The property manager and owner were wonderful. They came right over when the dryer wasn't working and to address a few broken items in the kitchen. The trash is picked up on Tuesdays. It was hard leaving additional trash when we left on Saturday. It was a great vacation and the property is special.

Fun week in Huntington Beach
This property is in an ideal location near to the beach, shops and restaurants. It had plenty of space for our family of 8. The bedrooms and bathrooms were comfortable and updated. The beach towels, boogie boards, chairs are plentiful, so we did not need to provide any of our own beach gear. The dining room table was large so that all of us could eat our evening meal together. When we arrived, we discovered that there was no ice maker nor ice cube trays in the house. I let Mike know about this and he supplied ice cube trays to us. The kitchen also had an infestation of ants and roaches and Wi-Fi was spotty. I brought these concerns to Mike's attention after we checked out, and he assured me that exterminator services have been scheduled and that the Wi-Fi has been improved by Spectrum. Overall, a great place.

Big family, superb accomodations
Our family of 8 thoroughly enjoyed this home. It is located just a half block from the beach and two or three blocks from the major shopping and restaurants. Also, just three blocks from the Catholic church (for us Catholics). The home was spacious, with ample sleeping space for a large family or party and a garage that fit our large SUV. With this as home base, we easily enjoyed surfing and other activities at Huntington Beach, easy drives to La Jolla, Los Angeles, Pacific Palisades and even trekked up to Sequoia National Forest. Thank you for a great stay.

Beatiful home, well maintained and fabulous location
This property is perfect if you are looking for a nice clean, spread out home that can accommodate many guest. The location is perfect for the beach, pier, Main Street and pacific city...all within walking distance...but far enough away to not be bothered by traffic congestion or noise. The views from decks are beautiful and a quiet patio out back allows for escaping.

Beautiful Ocean View HB Property
We stayed here during the first week of May and were very happy with our overall experience. The house is beautiful, and a very short walk to the ocean and the famous Huntington Beach Pier. There was plenty of room for our family to spread out and get comfortable in this house. My only note for the house is that we felt it was not overly baby friendly (Though this was not a deal breaker for us). There were many of the essentials for caring for our baby (pack and play, highchair, stroller, etc..), but we weren't comfortable letting the baby crawl around the open floor plan as there was no way to block access to the stairs or any other hazards (such as a baby gate), and the hardwood and tile floors worried us should the baby fall while standing. Otherwise, the house was everything we expected and more! We would definitely stay here again and recommend it for friends and family.

Good size, clean, great location
We visited to take our kids to Disneyland and the beach for Spring Break and found this house to be a perfect fit. The pictures represent it well. Furniture is clean and the home adequately accommodates 12. One block to the beach and two blocks to main street in Huntington. Easy access to the freeways. We would definitely stay again.

Great house with all the bells and whistles!
Love this house!!! Location was perfect! Very walkable distance to beach, shops, dining, etc. (within 2 blocks). We had a multi-generation gathering and it fit every ones needs. Our group of 12 never felt on top on one another and all had room to spread out. Beach towels, toys, chairs, coolers are provided so no need for buy things you won"t take home. Plenty of bedding, towels, blankets and pillows. Even had 2 extra air mattresses for use with provided bedding. Really clean house and well maintained property. We even messed up on check out time and they were super nice about it. Garage held our 2 rental cars and the 3rd was able to park behind garage for all the parking we needed. Close to major So. Cal attractions. Our group went to Hollywood, Disneyland, and multiple beach cities and all were within an 1/2 hour to hour drive. LAX was about 45 minutes away and I am sure other airports are much closer. Couldn't have asked for a better experience and great service with answering pre-trip questions. Thanks for making our holiday vacation memorable for sure!!
