Cape Catherine is a private peninsula on Lake Catherine. The peninsula is home to 3 houses; The Big House, The Chalet and The Cottage. You will be sharing the peninsula with guests in the other two houses. However, you will be the only one to have access to The Cottage. The Cottage is not shared with anyone.

This house is on Lake Catherine. Entergy drains Lake Catherine every year for shoreline maintenance and general Lake Health. That means that FROM MID-NOVEMBER TO MID-MARCH THERE IS NO WATER UNDER THE DOCKS OR AROUND THE PENINSULA.

We loved our stay at the cottage, which was clean with plenty of space. We enjoyed kayaking from the front and back decks, grilling hot dogs on the grill, and listening to/ watching the geese. Good hiking and dining around nearby Hot Springs.

The house was clean and very nice. The neighbor hood was quiet and peaceful. The only thing ( and this does not affect the house or host) the bed was too low to the floor for us old folks, and it felt like you sunk into the mattress a lot. But this is a very good place to stay and relax.

Had a great time enjoying some of what the area offers, I recommend this for a couples get away. Only issue we had was the drain in the bathtub and sink were slow to drain. This is a great place overall.

Peaceful and relaxing weekend

We had a little getaway for our anniversary and just wanted a relaxing quiet weekend and that’s exactly what we got. Beautiful views and just sitting on the porch enjoying the lake. Super dog friendly and the pups enjoyed the views and area too! We will definitely be back! And not too far away from downtown either!

Perfect peninsula place.

It was nice to be surrounded by water. The geese were entertaining just by themselves. The cabin was a quick access to Garvan gardens and super easy to get to town. The place was clean and pretty much well maintained. Will stay again.

The Cottage on Cape Catherine was lovely! The cottage was clean, cozy, and had everything we needed. Situated on a peninsula, we could go out the front door or the back door to access the lake—so cool! We fished, used their kayaks and paddle board, sat on the patios, and relaxed in this peaceful setting. It was our home base as we went to Hot Springs, Lake Catherine State Park, and the Garvin Woodland Gardens. Laura quickly and helpfully answered all our questions. We would highly recommend the cottage!

Wonderful place to stay. Water all around!

Just came to Hot Springs to visit a friend in The Belvedere. Enjoyed the botanical Garden close by the rental. It was very clean, comfortable and pleasant. Disappointed we couldn’t buy a bottle of wine on Sunday but we did okay without it. Deck very nice.

Great for a weekend

My husband and I had such a great time at the cottage on Cape Catherine. The place was super charming and peaceful, and had everything we needed for the weekend. Being on a peninsula surrounded by water was amazing—we had water views from every window. We loved hanging out on the loungers in the back, relaxing on the covered porch with our coffee every morning. The private dock was awesome for sitting and fishing. It was close to all the attractions but just far enough to avoid the crowds. We can’t wait to go back!

Wonderful getaway spot

This place is great. It has water at the front and back. It is so peaceful. There are usually geese. I love watching them. This place is pet friendly. I love how it is simple and clean. The location is conveniently located close to Hot Springs. It is very close to Garven Gardens. The road to hot springs is a wonderfully drive, especially if you take Shady Geove Rd. This was our second stay and we will be back.

Much needed time to ourselves

Thank you for the most peaceful weekend!! My husband and I needed this. Will tell all our friends about this beautiful and exciting time here in your cottage. If anyone is looking for low key peaceful place to stay this is the place to stay. We had the best time just hanging out at the lake which is out the back door and even the front door. My husband and I have been married 22 yrs and this is what we call the perfect stay. Not in any rush to go to place, we just enjoyed each other's company

The property is exactly as described. Looking for peace and quiet, this is your place. You can walk out of any door to a dock. We like to fish but if you want to canoe, swim, kayak that’s also available. There’s wildlife everywhere, geese, squirrels, all types of turtles, deer, etc. Good Wi-Fi too. A lot of sitting areas inside and outside on all three porches. We didn’t leave much only to go to the Dollar General store up the road a bit. Hot Springs city life isn’t far at all. Want to hike? The mountains are close by but you’ll need to drive there. We were very comfortable.

In Search of Fall Color

We are a retired couple with a dog and spent 2 nights here in November '24. Location is very quiet with good sunsets. Bed was quite comfortable. There were plentiful towels in the bathroom. We would have liked to have more than 2 wine glasses but that is a really small point. We took the dog on some of the trails at Lake De Gray Resort and Lake Catherine State Park. I realized the nearest grocery store was not close so we brought all of our food and beverages. We didn't realize that Lake Catherine's water levels are lowered from November to March but it isn't like we were going to go swimming. If we wanted a quiet spot in hot weather, I would consider coming here again. Property Manager was very responsive when we had an issue with the TV. Responsiveness is always appreciated.

Hab a great stay place is nice we had most of the panesala to our selves.The 3 decks on the cottage are nice gives you nice views with no sun although the back deck gets very little sun anways .The place is well supplied with every thing you need.
