The staff were lovely and truly made this such a special place to stay. While other hotels may offer more modern facilities, Oyado Kiyomizuya provided a unique, authentic experience, from a peaceful private onsen, to spacious tatami mat rooms, to delicious kaiseki dinner and breakfast and more. "Hotel was elegant and well maintained with many great facilities. The Onsen experience was excellent with large traditonal public baths on site. Within the Onsen there was a variety of different pools available. The buffet breakfast and dinner was good but had a limited number of vegetarian options. Our room was a traditional Japanese style which was very small and made smaller once the four futons were assembled. The room was very warm, with air conditioning unavailable. There was also a additonal charge for a futon for my 15m old child despite her being in the original booking. Also be aware of the hotel tax payable on checkout."

"What a lovely place! It’s basic but has everything you need - clean, fridge, a safe and kettle & green tea, The bed was so comfortable. On one of the floors, there’s two microwaves and a seating area. I used this and it was very clean. There is a small Onsen and laundry facilities (which I didn’t use). I did use the Onsen facilities in their sister hotel directly opposite - wonderful! Highly recommended."
