"We chose Holyhead because it’s close to South Stack (incredible scenery, and lots of birds - and baby birds!), and Newborough (we didn’t end up going there, but it sounds beautiful). Holyhead itself is a bit run down, and not a tourist destination, more of a pass-through place according to the locals. But The Hut was close to Market Street with pubs, restaurants and grocery stores, and an easy walk from the train station. We managed to get a taxi to South Stack (there aren’t a lot of them),...

"The farmhouse is in an excellent location, 2 minute walk to the beach and 5 minute drive to shops. Beautiful views and the house is well equipped with everything you need. Downstairs log burner is excellent, but only used the one upstairs in the living room once as it used a lot of wood for not much heat. Bring your own logs as there are none at the property. "The property was well located for a night's stay before catching the ferry to Belfast early morning. However, the room was not that clean. The furniture was sticky. The carpet did not appear to have been hoovered, there was a teaspoon lying on the floor. Although the owners explained they would not greet us personally because of COVID safey, this is well beyond the restrictions timetable and it would have been preferable to have a better service.
