"Its a beautiful, nostalgic throwback to a colonial India hillstation. Darjeeling is wonderful and this hotel has memories, from the posters and photis on the walls, of life back when. I stayed in the Tenzing Norgay block, with old somewhat faded photos of the great man along every inch of corridor. But not everything works...some of the lights, the bedsheets dont fit, the towels are worn. None of that distracted me from the historic atmosphere of old time luxury. The afternoon tea was great, as were all meals. And staff exceptional."

"The rooms were clean and the staff were really helpful. They need to make the hotel more friendly for the people with disabilities. They need to put side rails up and make the hotel more wheel chair accessible. Furniture is old, basically to maintain the colonial heritage, but still the furniture could polished to look new. Otherwise no complaints. They just need to make it more friendly for the DISABLED since it’s on the top of a hill."

"Property is located near to mall road, though bit walking is required to reach there, overall it was comfortable stay. Food was excellent, very tasty, hospitable staff, vintage type property, Its one of oldest in darjelling well maintained."

"Okay hotel, rooms are quite spacious, some with good views of the mountains in the distance. Quite close to the centre of Darjeeling on a busy road (to be fair all roads are busy there). The room we were in was a bit damp, this side of the hotel doesn't get sunlight at this time of year (December) so in this season it remains quite humid and therefore cold (there are enough blankets that you can sleep comfortably though) throughout the night and the day. Staff was nice but also sometimes too present, we got multiple calls in the room in the evenings to tell us that dinner was ready at the restaurant, even though we hadn't booked the restaurant or mentioned any plans to have dinner there."
