High Uptown Historic District Hotels, Columbus

"I stayed at the Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Columbus/Near Fort Moore for two nights, and unfortunately, my experience was not great. When I arrived, the room had several maintenance issues. There was no shower curtain, and I had to go to the front desk to report it. The same front desk employee had to come up and install it. The bathroom door had visible water damage at the bottom, and parts of the ceiling had peeling or missing paint. The room also had a noticeable musty smell. In addition, the TV had exposed cables, which made the room feel poorly maintained. The shampoo dispenser in the shower was not working, which I also had to report. The towels were clean but mismatched and looked worn out, as if they were from different sets and had been used for a long time. Breakfast was very basic. There were boiled eggs, but they were cold, and there were no hot protein options like sausage or bacon. They do have an automatic pancake machine, which is nice, but overall the selection is limited. The breakfast area is also quite small. The hotel is currently under construction or renovation, but this was not communicated in advance. When you arrive, you are met with plastic barriers and restricted areas, which impacts the overall experience. On a positive note, the staff was friendly and helpful. Overall, the hotel feels outdated and in need of a major upgrade. With improvements, it could be a better stay, but in its current condition, I would not recommend it."

"Shower and tub old, stained, weak water pressure and shower head badly needs replaced as mostly broken. Bath towels, etc. have seen their best days and need replaced. Breakfast was just ok. Front desk staff were very nice. "

"Beautiful aesthetic with the exposed brick/old mill vibes and walking distance to Millhouse restaurant. The staff was very friendly, and my stay was peaceful. I’ll definitely be back!"

"Great room. Very clean. Staff was always very friendly and helpful. Plenty of nearby restaurants and shops Perfect place to stay for a military graduation at Fot Benning. An while there check out the infantry museum right next door. You won’t be disappointed "
