"Art De-co remodel is well received. Easy parking. Attentive and professional staff. The only thing we didn't like was the denial of a late check out request (check out is 11:00 AM). The reason given was that they were heavily booked. Staff offered to store our bags, but that was not necessary for us because we could take care of our bags, we wanted a late check out so as to refresh after a morning tour of the nearby horse farms,"

"It is a very lovely property with rolling hills, a lot of interesting buildings, delicious food at onsite restaurant, and multiple activities of museums, trails, horse riding, etc. I was there as a place to sleep when I wasn’t at the annual Brandywine Hobbit festival that was at the Terrapin Hill Farm about 20 minutes away (although most of the 1000 Hobbits camped.) Therefore, I didn’t partake of most of what they had to offer. The downsides to me were that the signage for various buildings was lacking. You might stay in building 6, the Brethren building, and while they provide one with a map, unless one is at the building to read the small sign (no number) I found it difficult to find specific things without asking. The restaurant I found to be on a higher price scale, especially the cocktails. Not outrageous, just a tad high to what I am accustomed to. Others might find it cheap. They have cool, couple spiral staircases in the restaurant leading up to guest rooms. From the Hobbit event, my old legs were already tired, so walking the hills there were an issue for me. I would definitely stay there again."

"The Origin and a very upscale hotel in the Fritz Farm Shopping/Restaurant District. It is well located to many other restaurants and shopping destinations, and being able to walk to Fritz Farm was a great bonus. The room itself was average. There is no closet - only 4 3-prong hooks on the wall when you enter the room with 4 hangers. If you are there for a business trip or more luxurious event know there won't be much room for hanging clothes. The bathroom has a barn door and ours was peeling on the inner edge at the bottom, so each time you opened or closed the door, it scratched and squealed along the floor. The shower amenities were average but always nice to have. The front desk servers were extremely pleasant, polite and helpful. We didn't eat there but the bar/restaurant was being used on a regular basis while we stayed there. It is more expensive than others in the area but the convenience of the location and Fritz Farm Shopping/Restaurants is wonderful."

"Hotel is clean, beds were comfortable, good hot shower, a/c worked great and cost was reasonable. These are the important things for a hotel so I would stay here again. Is hotel in need of some updates? Yes. Was staff the greatest? No but fine These are 2 areas for hotel to improve but shouldn’t stop anyone from staying here."
