This end of terrace cottage rests in Allendale, Northumberland and can sleep six people in three bedrooms.
The Space:
The Forge is a large property resting in the centre of Allendale. It comes with three bedrooms, comprising of a family bedroom with double bed and single bed and two twin bedrooms, together sleeping seven people and served by family bathroom with a bath, walk-in shower, basin and WC and a cloakroom with basin and WC. Completing the interior is a kitchen/diner and a sitting room with woodburning stove. Outside, there is off-road parking for one small car and roadside parking is available. The Forge is a superb base for a family to explore Durham.
The Neighborhood:
Allendale is a bustling village resting in the centre of the busy lead mining area, and many relics of the mining era remain around the area. It is well positioned for exploring Carlisle and Lake District to the west, Hexham, Newcastle and Durham to the east and the Hadrian's Wall just to the north, as well as the Scottish borders. The area offers a plethora of walking and cycling opportunities, with the Coast to Coast path nearby for keen bikers.

Everything in and about the property was in top condition, clean, well equipped and comfortably warm. However, the booking process was confusing between Vrbo and Sykes Cottages and we thought some personal contact with the owners would have been welcome.
