The property is situated on the quiet route from Bellingham to Kielder and lies within the heart of the beautiful North Tyne Valley in the Northumberland National Park. Kielder is perfect for water sports enthusiasts, cyclists, walkers and adventure seekers of all ages, not forgetting the astronomers and photographers who will enjoy the beautiful dark night sky.
Bellingham is only a few minutes away with shops, a couple of pubs and cafés, whilst Otterburn is a few miles further with a lovely mill shop with outdoor wear, great if you are looking for a bargain item of clothing.
Knoppingsholme is an excellent base for the gathering of family and friends seeking a spacious and relaxing retreat, coupled with easy access to explore Northumberland and the Scottish Borders alike. You can travel east to the coast for an alternative day out. Northumberland is a diverse county steeped in history, with changing landscapes of rolling hills, moors and rugged coast. One of the best cottages we’ve stayed in. Extremely clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The open plan kitchen/living/dining is amazing, and the cooking facilities were excellent. The beds are all comfy and each bedroom has a lovely en-suite. There is also a huge utility room with a washer and dryer, and lots of cupboard space. The views to the front are lovely, and there is a large parking and seating area to the front, which is enclosed and dog friendly. The nearby village of Bellingham has an excellent Co-op, butchers, and even a microbrewery. We did some wonderful walks during our stay. Would highly recommend. Thank you.
