The property is a little out dated but the location is excellent. You need to go grocery shopping and stock up the fridge and pantry with your essential items as eating out for every meal will cost you an arm and a leg. Don’t expect room service as these are units that you lease. We had the corner room overlooking the marina and the beach. Great spot to go swimming, fishing and all the tours and activities are walkable distance. The pool was lovely and a favourite of the kids. I personally enjoyed the fishing off the rocks in front of the marina and the locals are all extremely friendly and happy to have a chat. Definitely going back.

Nice getaway

The property is in a great location with beautiful ocean views. The room was dated and ceiling needed cleaning from dust but overall a comfortable stay. The lap pool was lovely.

Pictures showed updated room, not what we had, but we did have oceanfront accommodations that was spectacular for the view. Great activities close by.

The property has an excellent location near the beach and the docks where most of the whale watching tours begin. The property is oldrr but our flat wss well renovated and had great views but being next to the boats was occasionally a little noisy. The property management was helpful, but the main issue seems to be housekeeping. In a nineteen day stay we had two cleans. They also seemed to not refill certain things. As a sufferer of dust mite allergies, I found the flat too dirty.

Absolutely loved it

We had the most wonderful stay. Our room was on the ground floor facing the beach, about 50 metres from the pool. The view from our unit was to die for. Waking up and jumping in the ocean or pool was such a luxury. The location was amazing - walking distance to everything we wanted - aquarium, markets, boat club and a quick drive to the botanical gardens and waterpark. We’ve already decided we’ll be back annually and we want the same unit! The spa bath was also beautiful, and second toilet was convenient. Only downfall was no wi-fi, although not a huge issue as we were having too much fun during the day. It would just be nice to watch a movie at night. Phone reception was poor, so hotspotting was not an option.

The apartment was okay but was very tired and in need of a make over. The appliances we adequate and functional. The location was good, near to the marina and not far from a supermarket.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The view of the water from our apartment was AMAZING! The accommodation is rundown and could do with an upgrade. There was no aircon upstairs in the master bedroom, thank goodness for the sea breeze! It was disappointing that there was no wifi for guests. The lagoon pool was a let down as it's out the back near the carpark, however, the lap pool was great. There is no games room, so don't be fooled by the picture on wotif. The room just had books in it.

Room was tired and needed a refurb with carpets, couch cushions had makeshift filling that was uncomfortable and TV was too small. Mattress needed replacing. SPA bath in middle of room??? Beautiful gardens and property was safe and in walking distance to eateries. A little far to go to supermarket but had a cheap bus service. Good location but need to update furniture and carpet.

Everything was fine, except the fact that wifi is not offered at all. No option to even pay for wifi. It felt like we were back in the 1990s when the internet was a luxury and most people did not have access to it. This not made explicit in the description of the property.

Probably wouldn’t stay here again. Our front and back door didn’t lock properly which in hindsight we should have mentioned to the receptionist but didn’t realise how bad it actually was until the last night. The property is quite old so I understand a few things being worn down but there were stains on the carpet, rust on the ceiling fan, two blinds missing from the back door and one that was broken and wouldn’t go up. There was a white stain on the kitchen bench, that when we wiped over started to come off so not too sure why the cleaners didn’t clean that. The side lamps were incredibly dusty. Just in general things that should be easily maintained didn’t seem like they were. But the whole doors not locking properly really put us off so probably won’t stay here again. The view is wonderful though.

What we love about this property is its location and the uninterrupted view of the beach/ocean. The sound of the waves coming into shore are peaceful and relaxing. The beach is easy access and great for non-swimmers like us as the surf is calm. Our kids love the beach to dig and make tunnels and sandcastles and just to be able to run in and out of the water. Getting coffee is an easy 150meter walk along a path of greenery and the beach on one side. There is also a park where kids can play or just sit. Easy walk to cafes at the Marina. Our favourite is ''Çafe Balanea''. It has excellent location and atmosphere. Food is great too. Easy walk to the Urangan pier. Having stayed on the ground floor this year meant bringing in luggage was much easier than when we were on the 1st level - no stair to navigate. All relevant if you have dodgy knees and young children. Whilst we loved very much being on the ground floor we did have to put up with guest walking past from time to time. This is something not noticeable when upstairs. We also found being upstairs gives an openness feeling as you look out at the beach/ocean as soon as you walk in the door. Nothing to hinder your view, completely uninterrupted. We love staying at the Breakfree Greaty Sandy Strait and will always choose this property as our first place to stay when we are in Hervey Bay. There is also 2 tennis courts, 2 swimming pools, bbq areas and a games room all there for convenience.

We stayed during a heat wave with the bedroom ceiling tapping continuously which was tortuous all might. There was aircon in the lounge room but it would not reach the bedroom. We arrived early Friday and we were allowed in early which was much appreciated but the reception closed at 5 pm and didn't open very much over the weekend so we endured a pretty uncomfortable weekend. Reception staff were helpful.
