About this property
2 Bed in Helston (oc-lpebb)
Porthallow itself is good for snorkelling and swimming, with very clean water. Popular with divers and a good launch point for kayaks and sailing dinghies. If you can tear yourself away from Porthallow, the entire Lizard Peninsula, with its many beautiful villages and coastal spots, including Coverack, can easily be explored from the property. Among the picture-postcard villages recommended for a visit are Helford, Mullion and Cadgwith. Porthkerris Diving Centre is also located very close by if you are seeking a more active holiday. Plenty of family-friendly attractions can be found within a short drive, making them perfect for day trips, including The Gweek Seal Sanctuary . Closer to home, Porthallow offers the fabulous Fat Apples Café, which serves great food using local produce. The nearest shop is just of couple of miles away in St Keverne and The Five Pilchards Inn in Porthallow is a lovely spot to pop to for dinner and a drink. This property is directly on the midway point of the famous South West Coast Path. There is a large carved stone marker on Porthallow Beach. This is the perfect place to stay for celebrating reaching halfway along the path if you are one of the brave few that take on the 630 mile trek!
The open-plan kitchen/diner is sure to be a place where most of your time will be spent, as it enjoys spectacular views out to sea. The kitchen is well-equipped with an oven and hob, fridge, coffee machine and microwave. The dining area is accessed via two steps up from the kitchen. The table comfortably seats four and is perfectly positioned next to a large window with beautiful views of the sea. There is a Smart TV in this space so that you can catch up on the news over breakfast if you're the first one up. A washing machine and freezer can also be found in the utility area, which has a door out to the back garden. Cosy nights in can be enjoyed in the lounge, featuring comfortable seating, a Smart TV, DVD player and a hi-fi. A warming wood burner is the icing on the cake, with the first basket of logs included ready for your arrival. The two bedrooms consist of one twin and one king, which also benefits from an en-suite WC. There is also a family-style bathroom, with a shower over bath and a WC.
Outside of the property, guests can make the most of the breath-taking views on offer from the raised patio area, complete with seating. This is access off the utility room. Garage for storage available - ideal if you want to bring along dinghies, surfboards, bikes or stand up paddleboards.
