Search Hellurnar hotels

The best time to go to Hellurnar is during the summer months, from June to August, when the weather is at its mildest and the days are long.

During this period, temperatures are generally between 10°C and 15°C, making it comfortable for exploring the outdoors. The extended daylight hours, with almost 24 hours of daylight around the summer solstice in June, provide ample time for sightseeing and enjoying the scenery. This is particularly appealing for travellers wanting to maximise their time for hiking and photography.

For those who enjoy hiking, the summer offers the best conditions for exploring the trails around Hellurnar and the wider Eysturoy region. The paths are generally drier and more accessible, making it easier to reach viewpoints and experience the dramatic coastal landscapes and waterfalls. This is ideal for active couples or solo travellers who want to spend their days immersed in nature.

While summer is the most popular time, the shoulder seasons of May and September can also be good, offering fewer crowds and still reasonable weather, though with a higher chance of rain and cooler temperatures.
