"Generally OK. Like too many other hotels there were no towel rails at all and just one small plastic hook on the bathroom door. This is for a double room ! No hooks at all in the bedroom. Nowhere at all to hang outdoor clothing ... especially if wet. Yet there were acres of wall space to fit something to ... if only 6" nails ! The devil's in the detail. Both hooks and rails are inexpensive !"

"My room clean and bright. My stay was for three nights but I saw someone at reception only when I checked in. The chambermaid was very pleasant. There appeared to be no information regarding the Wi-Fi password available. Public transport into the city centre was excellent."

Cosy cottage located 25 minutes from Edinburgh City Centre

"A lovely little cottage, spotlessly clean and the owners Victor & Corina were so friendly, welcoming and helpful with anything we needed.Edinburgh city centre is only a 30 min drive. However, I would strongly recommend getting the train from Eskbank to Edinburgh Waverley (city centre). Eskbank is only a 10 min drive and the train journey is only about 25 mins and at 12 return for 2 adults is brilliant and easy."
Kildonan Lodge Hotel

"Difficult to find in the dark even with satnav. There is lighting near the sign but the opening to the car park is difficult to find. Good amount of parking although not enough for every room. Didn't have breakfast here as there were cheaper options within a 10 minute walk. Room was smaller than looked on photos when booking and apart from some dust behind the nightstands was clean. Bed linen was nice and soft but the all season duvet was a bit too much for summer. Couldn't have window open as was on ground floor and was a little difficult to open the sash window too. Tea, coffee, hot chocolate provided. Shampoo, conditioner and hand wash. Staff were nice. There was a lounge and bar fridge available alongside extra refreshment supplies. Two bottles of water supplied in room. Noise was minimal so got a good night sleep. Easy to drive around Edinburgh and the local region from here."

"We loved our stay at Sycamore cottage. It was perfect for the 4 of us. The kitchen is a great size and has a small table perfect for eating or we could eat easily in the sitting room also. The local Tesco is large and had everything we needed. There's also a Morrisons in Gorebridge just a 5 mins drive from the house. The beds were comfortable and the rooms a perfect size feeling airy and light. It's easy parking on site and there's a lovely local walk looking onto beautiful fields. The site is very peaceful making us feel very relaxed. We also drove into Edinburgh daily as it's an easy journey. We'd love to visit again."
