"Great central hotel. Nearby the Vennel steps/Victoria street. Lots of Italian restaurants steps away. Staff were nice and hotel was spotless. We love that a twin bed are double beds each. Highly recc hotel . "

"We had a lovely stay at The Scholar. The hotel room was super spacious, I really loved the dressing table area! Everything was in pristine condition. The staff were super friendly and helpful, one lady even recommended us things to do in Edinburgh which we were grateful for. It was about a 20-30 minute walk from the city centre and we found lots of nice cafes to eat at and shops along the way. Overall we would definitely come back and next time I would like to try the restaurant either for breakfast or an evening meal. I would 100% recommended!! "

"Fantastic 2nd honeymoon dinner in the Dungeon!!!! Took a great hike around the property the next day, with a visit to the falcon habitat. The Falcon caretaker was very friendly and knowledgeable. Having never seen a falcon up close, it was a real unexpected treat."

"Email on the day of stay to say that the hotel was only open 8-12 in the morning and that my room key was in the door to my room. Didn’t even know where to find my room! Then the key wouldn’t come out the door, rang the emergency number and yes, someone did come to help. No restaurant open or bar and for a loan female travelling, it wasn’t a pleasant experience at all. Radiator in the bathroom didn’t work so the whole room was freezing. Had to stand in a towel as the floor tiles were really cold. On checkout, no “how was your stay”, just paid my bill and left. Won’t be staying there again. £90 for a bed!"

"The Hotel is an apartment hotel, they have a WhatsApp but they communicate via email so it is super inconvenient. I suggest they communicate via WhatsApp it is more efficient. I met the owner, not a very nice and accommodating guy for someone who owns a hotel and works in hospitality. Hotel is located far from the city itself but a bus ride away, overall clean rooms and bathroom, you cannot store your luggage unlike other hotels, if I am back in Edinburgh, I will NOT STAY AT THIS PLACE AGAIN. There are better hotels out there. "
