Although cost of stay was good because of [website] booking, we found the price of drinks in the hotel were very expensive.
The only place to plug the hairdryer in to was by the wardrobe handy for the mirror but too near the floor to stretch the dryer flex.

A beautiful, romantic place to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Our suite and the Castle were of fairytale proportions. The historic surroundings were complimented by the modern facilities of the spa which added to the overall feel of relaxation and wellness. The grounds were superb with lots of walking tracks, animals and birds to spot and explore. Would love to have stayed longer!

Very comfortable room, has ironing board and a "pants" press, which I disnt use but shows level of room. Hotel lobby and inside areas as well as surrounding grounds out of a movie set. Staff friendly and helpful when needed. Restaurant meals good and reasonably priced. Highly recommended for short or long stay.

Such a great place to stay! We loved everything about it. A great room, friendly staff (especially the morning person who gave us tips on what to do that day).
The food here is OUTSTANDING. Best we had on our whole trip.

Lovely place to stay with all of the trimmings of a country manor with staff and accommodation to match. Lovey dinning facilities. Very formal arrangements for dinner and very pleasant staff and accommodations. Lots of fun.

Warm, welcoming reception from our hostess Sue. We were lucky enough to be the only guests so were really spoiled! Our room was large, well appointed, beautifully decorated and very clean and comfortable. The breakfast room was also very clean and well decorated. The breakfast menu was varied and delicious. We stayed at Newsham Grange on our first night of a driving holiday and, as I suspected, we were spoiled as not all our accommodation was as good as this.Thank you Sue, you are a wonderful...

I absolutely loved this place. The setting in the countryside, the amazing building, the spacious, light room, the wonderful service - my only complaint is that I only had one night!
Totally recommended. It was great!

Fantastic location, great hosts and staff. Very comfortable room and facilities. Lovely dinner in the restaurant and excellent breakfast. Would stay again if I’m York.

We had four nights at Holdsworth. It is a fine historical mansion well staffed rooms were smaller than they looked on the internet photos. We were upstairs and the window was a large skylight. For two of the nights we stayed there were large weddings held which occupy the gardens and bar area and on one night the entire restaurant. They have a lot of weddings apparently. The breakfast was excellent the reception staff helpful. Parking on the wedding nights was very difficult.
