"This is a little gem of an inn. The drive along the way is picturesque and Otterburn itself is darling. Our host for the Old Post Office was very accommodating. We arrived after the normal check-in time and she was very welcoming. Our room was immaculate and our shower had lots of hot water. Breakfast was excellent, including our coffees (flat white and vanilla latte). We also enjoyed the back patio area with plenty of seating. Definitely recommend this inn!"

"In all my years (85 yrs old) of travelling I have never come across a more cheerful, caring set of staff than those five lovely folk serving brekky here in this hotel. A pleasure to watch them at work...thank you."

"Amazing experience to stay in a castle. We stayed in the Radcliffe Suite, so spacious and grand. The bathroom was huge! With a sauna! The bed was super comfy. My husband and I had dinner from the fine dining menu and our son was able to order from the relaxed dining menu which was great. The food was delicious and the staff were very friendly and attentive. Breakfast was equally wonderful, and my husband was very happy to see kippers as a menu choice. All in all we couldn’t fault a thing and really enjoyed our stay. The only bad thing was we only were able to stay one night."

"For what we paid for the room we were not expecting much, from the outside and communal area it looked like its in need of some TLC but we recieved a lovely welcome from reception all reception staff were very friendly, we were pleasantly surprised when we opened the door to our room, nice big room, seats to sit, places to put clothes, clean, the bed was comfortable and we had a wonderful nights sleep some lovely little touches like tea cofee and biscuits plastic cups, we had booked breakfast also not expecting much for what we paid i can not fault the choices and it was very tasty. About a 20 min walk to the town centre but we could have caught a bus at the bottom of the street. We would recommend and would stay again "

"Had a lovely break at Pinegrove, we had a recently refurbished room, mucky footprints on the bathroom floor but the rest of the room was clean, a bedside table for both sides of the bed would have been nice and/or a table to use the kettle on, we had to rest it on a chair, hotel is a little outdated & could do with a lick of paint, but that said we would stay there again. Breakfast was very good"

"I stayed for one night following a long hike along Hadrian's Wall. Beautifully located close to the wall, but far away enough to feel extra secluded and peaceful. The host couldn't have been more helpful, and the breakfast superb. Comfortable bed, hot shower/bath and lovely little touches in the room. Will most definitely return."
