They didn't respected my reservation. I paid for that in expedia I gave them the reservation number and they said that Expedia didn't pay to them or make the reservation. I was pretty upset. I was feeling humiliated. They offered another room for more money. I want a reimbursement from Expedia because this was terrible experience. I walked to another at night time until I went to other hotel Hotel Morales.

tiny room compared to pics; poor ventilation; window onto air vent; bed loudly creaked with every move. Poor service; hours before a second towel arrived (2 person booking), no serious attempt to remedy issues, unable to deal with cancellation. Shower barely functioning. Able to hear other guests using their bathroom through window and walls. Generally, hotel pictures do not match reality.

One of the couples we were with had a fall (the husband) on the stairs and the staff were wonderful - caring, attentive and made several followup calls to make sure he was okay and actually came up to the room to check on him! So kudos to the young fellow on the desk and the concierge - they went above and beyond!

We love this historic hotel. But keeping the antiquity means it isn’t soundproof and can be noisy. I resented this time that they only give you 2 small bottles of water. Even though we stayed 5 nights - no more water was given.

If you are looking for a hotel with some history this is definitely the one. If you are looking for cleanliness and a sense of security, look elsewhere. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay, the staff was great and there is plenty to do within walking distance!

The premium suite I reserved, was not available when I arrived. They had rented it to someone else. I had even taken the extra step of having an Expedia agent call the property to verify that the "one of it's kind" room was for certain booked as my room. The hotel was full and no other suite rooms with a jacuzzi were available, so I had to stay in a dark, run down room with very old uncomfortable mattresses all in one room instead of having a separate room as expected for my guest. The bathroom tub/shower was broken/inoperable jacuzzi with grime in the cracks and around the broken jets. The towels were stained and frayed. I was just staying over to fly out the next morning and did not have an opportunity to find other accommodations 2 days before Christmas. I am Very disappointed with Hotel Francis and the condition of their rooms. I have stayed many times in the suite room and it is so bright and cheery with great amenities. This is by far the worst experience I have had there, and have no intentions of will booking again and take the chance of have that experience again.

The bed was very uncomfortable every time you moved it made a lot of noise. The room was overlooking the street which was also very noisy. The bathroom was very small.

Loved it. Extended my stay a whole week. It felt safe, staff was very helpful, and everything was close by. The only con I have is that the wifi is not strong on the 3rd floor. Looking forward to staying here again.

It was a true delight to be staying at the oldest hotel in Guadalajara. So Much charm and close to everything in the town centre. The staff were helpful with taxis and excursions and the sort. A very pleasant stay indeed

Don't stay here!
Dark and dingy. Elevator never worked and I am disabled using a cane. Had to climb stairs. Second level light kept dark day and night making it hard to navigate. Priced the same as Holiday Inn, which is world class with all amenities.

The personel is very friendly room is nice and clean, well located. I have stayed many times at this hotels, room are clean, the only thing i dont like about the hotel on this trip is that the chandelier at the entrance is not on anymore, there is no live music and the bar is closed, there is no lights at the terrace at nite only at your entrance doir and is very dim, the tables doesnt have chairs anymore

This hotel was built in 1610 making it the oldest in Guadalajara, it has housed famous guests and movies have been filmed there. The elevator is a must see. Historic factor 10/10 Unbeatable location if you're planning on taking tours of the city and visiting all the Centro Historico locations. Location 10/10 Since it is a bit on the older side, bathrooms and beds are a little uncomfortable. Very high ceilings and creeky wooden hallways. Not many electrical outlets. Comfort 7/10

The location was good and the staff kept an eye out for my return when I went out to eat alone at night. However, there are no windows, just doors opening out onto a balcony that I closed when leaving the room. No AC. The tub needs to be torn out and P valve installed. The sewer smell in the restroom was awful. Fun old elevator!

The hotel was unique. It has plenty of antique charm. It does seem to lack maintenance though. We were supposed to have a safe in our room, but it wasn’t functioning. Hotel offered to keep our stuff at the front desk but we weren’t comfortable with that. Our bathroom had a jacuzzi tub, but it was far from impressive. The tub was full of bugs when we first entered and when we tried rinsing, the shower head sprayed water everywhere. The room felt as though it hadn’t been used in quite a while, therefore they wouldn’t have known of the issues. The room had 2 functioning outlets but that was it. We had to switch out our electronics in order to be able to charge them when needed. Overall, the hotel could potentially use a bit of maintenance throughout. The location is ideal. Super close to local transit stations and shopping. I would recommend if you’re looking for a place to sleep and not expecting anything luxurious.

Historic. Charming but very quirky. A bit run down. Old fashioned elevator and lots of steps even in the rooms! We had A/C but no window, so very poor ventilation, at times it was suffocating and just smelled bad. Bathroom tiny but towels are nice. Staff was lovely.
