"We felt well cared for while spending two nights at La Bonne Auberge with our German Shepard. Emmanuel, the host, had a dog bed, water dish and disposable bags in the room on our arrival. "Absolutely beautiful new hotel. Warm welcome on arival and excellent show around and room check in. The room was excellent and far exceeded my expectations. Separate living area, bedroom bathroom and private terrace. Nice to have air-conditioning during the hot weather. The pool was lovely and also over seen by the bar staff who give you a bottle of chilled water when you get there. "We really enjoyed our 3 day stay in this spotless house just outside Gourdon. It is really spacious with a pleasant layout. The house overlooks a green valley beyond the swimming pool. The pool’s solar cover worked well keeping the water nice and warm in mid September. Hervé was a very friendly and helpful host. It is a peaceful spot."

"The house is a perfect place to explore the Dordogne and the Lot area. Being located close to the A20, a day trip Toulouse or Limoges is also possible. Locally there are so many activities to do and places to visit in this area. Some things not to miss are Sarlat-la-Canede's night market on Thursday evenings (get there early as parking is a nightmare) and canoeing on the Dordogne.The property itself is situated on the outskirts of Gourdon, in quiet countryside surrounded by lots of wildlife, but is alsi only a short drive from Gourdon's centre and the loacal supermarkets.The property is very clean and has all the amenities that you need. Downstairs are two bedrooms, kitchen and the bathroom. Upstairs there is a very comfortable living room area with a sofa and TV and a dining room that also doubles as a third bedroom. Everything in the property worked and was well maintained. All the beds were very comfortable.Bernard met us when we arrived and showed us around the property and also left us a small welcome gift of local produce which was very nice.We really enjoyed our holiday, the house was perfect and it is in a great location, we cannot fault any of it."

"Domaine de Janis is a beautiful set of converted farm buildings, perfect for large gatherings of family or friends. We booked the whole place (main villa sleeps 12 in 6 bedrooms, plus 2 separate outbuildings sleeping 2 in 1 bedroom and 6 in 1 bedroom with double mezzanine respectively). The pool is a good size with beautiful views and there is a large patio with sheltered dining table big enough for all guests.Marc (the host) lives on site and was always available for questions. He is a retired chef and we arranged for him to cook us a 3-course celebratory meal one evening which was fabulous. Self catering would have been easier with a few more essential utensils and basics like kitchen roll, oil, cleaning products etc but not a major problem.Be prepared to cover some miles during your stay as the location is quite isolated but both the Lot and Dordogne valleys are in reach. It's a steep hill down to Le Vigan village where there is a lovely boulangerie/patisserie which we cycled to some mornings."
