Kumara Historic Cottages - Hostel
At the time of writing, this hotel has a 9.2 on Expedia. That is truly absurd. This hotel is old (they don’t call it “historic” for nothing) and run down (featuring peeling wallpaper, a saggy matress, threadbare carpet and a kitchen that looks like it was built in the 80s). Our host Sarah was easy to contact and quick to respond to our questions. The cottage has everything we needed and we were very comfortable. Loved the peace flags Sarah! I have them at my house too!!

Beachfront Hotel
Room was decent, but some in the annex have no beach view. Staff was very quick and helpful when we had to change rooms due to an issue with some outlets in our first room.

Shining Star Beachfront Accommodation
The lady at reception, Kym? Gave us a great welcome and we particularly appreciated that when she noticed my wife's walking disabilities, changed the booking so that we had a chalet with a ramp for easy access. In spite of the wet and windy weather, we were snug in a very nicely appointed room.
