Family owned business, assisted with very friendly staff. Also provides a baby pool with snacks poolside extremely clean and the renovations have kept to the beauty of what is the koala hotel

Amazing place
Great little family run hotel. Easy walk to restaurants, each and everything you need. Very clean,friendly staff, very clean pool. Breakfast limited but enough to get you going in the morning. This is a two star hotel so don't expect luxuries - bathroom small and shower very tiny but does the trick. Decor needs a little uplift. They do a good job for the price here. Would stay again.

Good value for basic room and helpful staff.
Basic hotel but helpfulness of staff boosts it's rating. Clean and in good neighborhood. Easy walking distance to sights. Good value for the reasonably priced rooms.

Friendly hotel.
Location was good,15 mins from the harbour area .The staff were very pleasant and professional.My room was clean and everything worked as it should.The shower was a bit small,but only a minor thing.The breakfast was continental with alternate boiled eggs and scrambled.One slight observation was that it would have been nicer just to have a few more hot items.All in all though a pleasant stay.

Simply the Best!
2 star hotel with a 5 star experience. Spotlessly clean, great breakfast, great pool and the most friendliness staff and owners we have ever come across. They all work hard to make your stay the best. It will aways be our first port of call should we go back to Kos, I can most honestly and genuinely recommend this hotel as value for money and a great stay.

Lovely family run hotel.
Enjoyed 2 night stay @ Koala Hotel recently. Reviews were true to form, not exactly most up-to-date facilities, but cleanliness and service to put some 5 stars to shame. And a lovely pool area too.

An Excellent Family Run Hotel
How does the Koala get a 4.3/5 rating on here? By focusing on the details and offering very good value for money, along with friendly service. If you want a super little family hotel to stay at, 5 mins walk from the beach, 10 from the town and with plenty of tavernas within 5 mins, then the Koal is for you. It's small, clean, has a nice bar, does a decent contintental breakfast and has a small, but useable pool and sitting area. Recommended.

Not bad for the price. Basic room with a pool and decent lobby area for drinks. Good location about 15 minutes walk from the port and 2 blocks from the water. Furniture was the standard tired Greek style but had been painted. Owner was mostly helpful and nice, but on the departing day there was an electrical problem with no hot water and no accommodation was made to rectify that. Greek customer service is not good in general (when compared to the states), so I would still say this was an above average stay.

Home away from home.
Very clean nice hotel run by a lovely family who will look after you if you need any travel advice or directions. Good pool deck and rooftop sunning area.

i liked the Hotel. The staff were friendly and my room very clean. The breakfast was very good with a good selection of food. They could improve the pool area and make the roof area useable. But I would be happy to recommend this hotel to a friend.

Basic accomodation, reasonable location
I stayed at the Koala Hotel for only one night early in the tourist season in Kos (early May). The room was very basic, but then so was the price. During my brief stay there were a few problems: the air conditioning unit didn't work (had not controls), neither were controls for the TV provided; there was no hot water in the middle of the day (2 to 3 pm). and the walls were paper thin, so a lot of noise communicated between rooms. Since I didn't try to resolve any of these issues, I can't comment on the responsiveness of hotel staff. The hotel is close to the marina, if you have business there, and a reasonable walk from the center of Kos. All in all, good value for cost even with a few issues.

Highly recommended.
Located two blocks from the sea, 10 minutes from Kos centre in a nice quiet neighborhood with a car rental just across the street and a sheep herd behind it. The room was flawless, everything nice, clean and smelling fresh. We got a room with a balcony facing the sunset and obviously spent the nights drinking wine and watching sunsets. Also if you're staying at Koala, do not miss breakfast. Believe me you don't know what you're missing. The food is simple, traditional and to die for. The experience is definitely worth way more than we paid. I was very impressed. I highly recommend Koala hotel to everyone. If I ever go back to Kos, I'll be staying at Koala.

For this price, exceeds every expectations.
Great little hotel, the facilities are somewhat basic but that's what you'd expect for the price. What really exceeds expectations is the quality of service, how friendly and helpful everyone is, how impeccably clean the whole premises are left.

I stayed at the Hotel Koala in mid June 2012 and was pleasantly surprised. I had a single room with a double bed and a small balcony. The room was small but had all the amenities required and it was absolutely spotless.The hotel is within easy walking distance to the port and the city close to theseafront . As it turned out the owner had grown up in Melbourne and moved back to Greece and was very helpful and accommodation with any requests. The price to value ratio was very good. I would definitely stay there again!

Would recommend for sure!
Stayed here because of the other good reviews. The owners were super nice and the rooms were great. If you are sailing with Seascape which leaves out of the old harbor make note that this is close to the new harbor. Not a big deal but about a 15 minute walk. Would absolutely stay again. Others in our party paid a lot more for lodging that in my opinion could not have been better for the price or service. Oh, and they have a pool which was really cool.

The nicest family owns this hotel and everything was just what we needed. Small pool. Small bar. The location was near the new harbor which was a tiny bit inconvenient for us since we sailed into the old one, but we have no complaints. Would stay there again.

You couldn't ask for a better hotel in Kos. The staff is beyond friendly and will go out of their way to help make your stay better and more comfortable. It's a short walk to the beach and everything that you need is very close by. If I ever return to the island, I will definitely stay at this hotel.

La struttura piccola e pulita è in una zona comoda, a 10 minuti a piedi dal centro di Kos. Va bene per un soggiorno senza tante pretese dove la pulizia e il poter dormire in un letto comodo sono le cose essenziali. Il personale cordiale e gentile si mette a tua disposizione

Struttura nuova retta dalla famiglia conduzione Crisanti sorella e Dimitrou il fratello. Che si occupa eccepito e amministrazione. Bravi veramente. Disponibili e proattivi. Punti di forza posizione e una colazione dove non manca nulla veramente. Yogurt e dolcetti preparati da Frisanti rimarranno con voi nell immaginario. piscina e hall tutto moderno e ristrutturato. Ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo. Nelle vicinanza c e tutto dal noleggio scooter, al supeemarket è un ottima trattoria greca Alliada a conduzione familiare. Direi termine famiglia riassume la nostra esperienza.

Entusiasto di aver scelto Koala hotel, piccolo ma molto confortevole.. I gestori, a conduzione familiare, sono stati gentili e sempre con il sorriso stampato.. Piscina molto curata peccato però che lo spazio per fare i girasoli sulle sdraio non sia tantissimo ma meglio di nulla.. La camera che avevo io era all'ultimo piano quindi, oltre a me non c'era nessun'altra, e l'unica cosa che potrebbe dar fastidio è il motore dell'ascensore (io dormo anche allo stadio) per chi no, eviterei.. E avrei preferito un terrazzino più curato come quello al livello più basso.. Tutto sommato, sono contento, soddisfatto e se dovessi consigliarlo.. Assolutamente si, buone vacanze a tutti

Excellent value for money! Small family-run hotel in a quiet but central location in Kos town, near the sea front and just a 5-minute bicycle ride from the central square. This is our second visit and it won't be our last :-)
