Breakfast was very good. The food was very good quality. I needed to check out before 8am which is the start of breakfast but the hosts were very accommodating and served me at 730am. Would stay again.

Short stay in Great Yarmouth

Check in was easy. Staff very friendly and helpful. Owner took time to speak to us and offered loads of advice on future stays there and abroad. Breakfast was very nice and plentiful with a good choice. Nice position for the seafront, park and shops Would definitely book there again

The hosts were friendly, welcoming and accommodating. The room was clean, though in need of a few bits of maintenance (loo roll hooder rusty and broken, water in the sink due to the plug not staying out, loose socket by the bed). The bedding was clean and there were a good selection of pillows with different hardness. The mattress was a little thin but ok. The room got cold in the evening but there was an electric radiator in the cupboard. The front was within a few minutes walk so convenient. I didn’t have breakfast. I went down 3 times in the timeslot on the web page but no one was around and there were no perishable items out to show there was a breakfast so i gave up and didn’t bother. Reasonably cheap and met my needs for one night. Nice hosts but needs some repairs.

Excellent experience, host Sue and Tony, couldn't do enough for you, really nice couple. Room we stayed in was a double with ensuite facilities, very clean and comfortable. Stayed 3 nights, price included breakfast and parking permit. Breakfast was excellent, all sorts, cereal, cooked breakfast, continental, etc. Easy walking distance to beach and shops. I would definitely recommend staying here.

Great position and great price

Well positioned for beach and amusements - shame I was working. Friendly proprietor. Parking was in neighbouring residential streets using an online permit provided by the hotel. Comfortable room with smart en-suite, at a very good price. Good quality breakfast. Only downsides were noisy plumbing and the heating being full on, with a faulty radiator valve so I couldn't turn it off.

When we arrived the owners came to great us. Very friendly, explained everything very well. Room was perfect with a lovely view. Bed comfortable, breakfast was amazing and great selection. Loved the fan on the wall. Only bad thing i would say is upgrade the pillows, uncomfortable, even with 2. Room was hot even with the fan on the wall.

Personal touch

Great little hotel in a really convenient location! A lovely warm welcome when we arrived ❤️ and explained everything to us. Breakfast was plentiful and freshly cooked to order, which lots of choice. The decor is a bit dated, but doesnt ditract at all from the value of the stay. The only downside for me was the beds, they weren't particularly comfy, but bed comfort is a pretty personal thing. All staff were super friendly, with the host checking on us in the morning regarding our stay, and remembered us by name, which was a lovely touch! Its every central, very close to the seafront and main attractions- we would absolutely stay again!

Excellent stay

Arrived at the Shrewsbury after a very long journey. Was greeted by sandie who was friendly and nothing was any trouble for them. She showed us to room which was very well equipped and extremely clean. We had the four poster suite which was beautiful. Breakfast was fantastic served by Tony who was always very friendly and always found time for a chat offering a wide range which filled us up till the evening. Would definitely stay there again and will be recommending the Shrewsbury to family and friends

Excellent last minute find

Completely last minute booking so a bit of a pin stick. Obvious upon arrival the owners have a huge pride in this place as the welcome was very warm and everything around the hotel was spotless and immaculate. Our room (3) had a comfy bed and everything you could ask for, special mention for the shower room and the best shower ever! Breakfast deserves all the accolades heaped upon it elsewhere, just about the best I’ve had and all freshly cooked. Stacks of extras available too - all gladly scoffed! Absolutely no criticisms or complaints. I will add that the Shrewsbury can be classed as quite a ‘traditional’ seaside GH. It’s in a quiet location off the main front and does not have a bar so maybe not for you if it’s a rave you’re after. There’s not an on-site car park, but no issues street parking around the corner and the hosts sort you a temporary resident’s permit on arrival. Excellent value for money and would highly recommend.

The hosts were very friendly. The room was spacious with everything you need. You can pre order breakfast, which tasted lovely. You get a front door key so that you can come and go as you please. Overall a great experience.

Sandie and Tony were fantastic hosts who went above and beyond nothing was too much trouble. Hotel was spotlessly clean, we had the junior suite which was very spacious.
