This private two bedroom, one bath apartment spans the entire east side of the house, front to back, with harbor views from every room. An original harbor side home, renovated with modern decor, with a feel that is both vintage and fresh. Situated on a corner lot on the harbor with a spacious yard perfect for campfires, games, relaxing in the hammock, and simply watching the world go by.
Ideal as a home base for exploring the North Shore,
and as a sanctuary from which to contemplate the Big Lake, which is spectacular in all seasons.

Everything was wonderful! Maykate was lovely, very welcoming. The space was fantistic! Walked everywhere. Food was great, everywhere, including. Angry Trout, Hlppee Tacos, Blue Water Cafe, Java cafe! Great place to stay in Grand Marais
We really enjoyed our stay here. It has a great view of the harbor and everything in Grand Marais is in within easy walking distance. The house was clean and was beautifully decorated. There were plenty of towels and robes (which were a nice touch). Beds were comfortable. The living room is spacious has a lot of comfortable seating to enjoy views of the harbor while sipping coffee or reading a book. There is a nice fire pit which the host had ready for us upon arrival. We had an issue with one of the automatic blinds upon our arrival which they addressed and fixed immediately. The only reason I have gave it 4 and not 5 stars is because the house is right on 61 and certain times of the day the traffic was noisy, It gets quiet after 10pm and gets busy after 8am. That said it is a very nice place to stay and if a little traffic noise doesn't bother you I would recommend staying here. My husband and I would definitely stay here again.

Idyllic Location, View and Stay!
We absolutely loved our stay at this super well-appointed, designed and laid out home. Our family makes an annual trip up to Grand Marais and we spent 5 nights there. Waking up and opening the blinds to the beautiful view of the harbor and lighthouses was one of the highlights of my trip this year. This place is very comfy and provides you with everything you need for your stay. And yes, location is perfect! Short block walk from downtown shops and restaurants. Host was welcoming and accommodating. Loved it!

Charming cottage in a great location!
Nicely appointed cottage. MaryKate provided some charming extras...robes, flowers, sparkling water and firewood for outdoor fire pit. Cottage is a short walk from downtown and right across street from nice restaurants. Bonus was access to lovely bike/walking path..the Gitchi-Gami trail ...right out front door! Perfect Summer Getaway

Ideal Location & Great Layout
We were in town with our extended family and this VRBO was wonderful. We were able to set up the back bedroom for our 6mnth old to sleep/nap in while back to relax in the front living room or outside by the fire. We were also able to host our extended family over for some smores and hot dogs over the camp fire. The location is right on the edge of the commercial district and has the same ease of getting around as anywhere else in town. We also got to meet MaryKate when checking in which was a nice touch to learn a little bit more about the accommodations and whom we were renting from. Traffic noise was an initial concern but was a complete non-issue. Would stay here again without any hesitation!

Best Place in Grand Marais
You open up the blinds and Grand Marais Harbor and Lake Superior are right there in all their glory. What a way to start the day! This place is charming and very well decorated. You have two great restaurants across the street and downtown is easy walking distance. MaryKate is a friendly and attentive host and a lot of fun to visit with. Excellent accomodations
We arrived later than we intended due to road conditions, but immediately settled in. The place was immaculate, well appointed and very comfortable. There was a fresh pack of Fika coffee and a bottle of sparkling water which were both very much appreciated. The location is fabulous. I spent a lot of time in the chair by the front window breathing in the aroma a lilac bush right by the window and watching the sailboats in the harbor. I have mobility issues so didn't leave the premises very often (seven steps to get into the apartment), but my daughter walked all over town. The beds were very comfortable. We enjoyed a walk across the street to our favorite eating place, The Angry Trout. Would love to stay here again.

My brothers and I started a yearly tradition on doing a brother’s trip. This year we decided to stay in Grand Marais - and I saw this listing and I knew I had to book it asap! MaryKate is a phenomenal host - she walked us through the amazing property and was very responsive via VRBO messenger. I would 10/10 recommend this property to anyone! Great quaint cottage

Perfect little stay
This is the perfect cozy little house for a getaway to Grand Marais. It was the perfect size for our family of 4. Everything was very clean and the host was very responsive to any questions or requests. The Fika coffee by the coffee pot was the perfect finishing touch.
