Holiday Inn London - Shepperton by IHG

"A very poor experience. None of the rooms had working air conditioning, which appeared to be centrally switched off, and despite raising it multiple times, nothing was done. Offering two glasses of wine for 11 people felt completely inadequate.
One room (226) was in an unacceptable state — wet bed, hairs in the bathroom, urine on the toilet, dirty surfaces and no bin liners. It was reported at 6:30pm and not partially addressed until after midnight, which is unacceptable. The only gesture offered was a Baileys, which was frankly insulting.
Two rooms were next to a delivery bay, and with no air con the windows had to stay open, meaning guests were woken around 4am by deliveries. When I asked to speak to the duty manager the next morning, I was told they refused to come out. We were only offered 30% off two rooms, despite all six being affected.
A formal complaint has since received no response at all, and as this appears to be an IHG franchise, there seems to be no accountability from IHG either. Overall, a very disappointing stay well below expected standards."

"This was a lovely hotel to stay in, I loved the black and red decor. The food was really nice, the bed was comfy and the room was clean. I would stay again and would recommend to others. Although the location it at the end of the runway,
We could not hear any of the planes from inside the building. It was also a 5 min drive from our parking site."

"Mixed Experience – Great Location but Hygiene Needs Improve
The hotel is very well located, which made getting around quite convenient. The staff were also friendly and helpful throughout the stay, which we appreciated.
However, the overall hygiene standards, particularly in the toilet, were below expectations. Additionally, the carpets in the reception area and corridors were quite old and had an unpleasant smell, which affected the overall experience.
With some improvements in cleanliness and maintenance, this hotel could be a much better place to stay

"Arrived late so dinner was just finishing, able to order a coffee, or alcohol. But nothing else the coffee bar had space to sell other items like biscuits or cakes (Perhaps in the future).
We wasnt told about a neurovirus outbreak the week before. A couple of guests mentioned it. Which explained why alot of cleaning was going on. Hence the 3 stars in parts of the review.
Room was very nice and very clean.
Spa again nice, but people allowed to lane swim outside the lane swim area, which was problamatic and 1 guest particularly unpleasant when he got in our way! Can't blame the hotel for his manners but he sbould be directed to the correct part of the pool.
Breakfast, all staff very attentive, but let down by quality of products especially the sausages and bacon. Porridge however was excellent.
Overall stay was pleasant and would stay again."

"Whenever I book using expedia I almost always get the room that nobody wants, the one next to the high traffic door, the elevator, or the ice machine area.
It seems to be a pattern and I suspect it is because I use the expedia app to do so because it is always mentioned when I check in. The staff will almost always say " booked with expedia?"
We have a ok time there. Ate at the hotel, service was slow, could see the restaurant manager having a bit of chat to one of the servers, it was obvious not a good one. Food was not great and they over charged me for food I did not have. Manager got it fixed and also deleted the service charge.
Used the shuttle to and from the Gatwick airport. Was seamless."
