We stayed for 3 nights over Christmas and the village main road was closed due to something going on

We stayed for 3 nights over Christmas and the village main road was closed due to something going on at the village pub, a lady approached us and guided us around to get to the cottage. Ample parking, we had 3 smaller cars as coming from different locations. Directions were perfect and we opened the door of the cottage and what greeted us was a Xmas themed welcome. Very spacious and clean with welcome hamper eggs, mulled wine, crisps and home made meringues and more. House was themed throughout with Christmas throws and cushions. Very comfortable stay and cupboard items in kitchen, so thoughtful! Welcome environment for our dog also with blankets, towels, treats and fantastic enclosed garden. Thank you for our stay, would recommend and would return for sure.

Lots to really like about the property, but it's starting to need a bit of TLC.

Lots to really like about the property, but it's starting to need a bit of TLC. Flaking paint to windows and damaged front door surface to front, gate that doesn't now open fully for easy parking of bigger cars, etc. Wonderfully clean, comfy beds and sofas. We fully understand the time and financial pressures on cottage owners, of course. Stairs are very steep and fairly slippery wood, so be warned if anyone has (relatively minor) mobility difficulties - they could still struggle. Top bedroom has a great view but very sloping ceilings, so it's very hard to navigate it whilst standing straight and not hitting your head, and I'm short. Village itself is lovely and quiet, with a fabulous local pub.

Well appointed cosy cottage in a great location.

Well appointed cosy cottage in a great location. We arrived on Valentines evening and were blown away by the welcome pack, including Prosecco, chocolates and roses, as well as delicious meringues, fresh raspberries and some basics as well! Good size rooms with a great kitchen with a dining table that has a lovely view over the garden and the fields behind, comfortable lounge with a huge wood burner. The local pub The Red Lion is outstanding, stunning food - recommended the Sunday lunch, lovely staff and very dog friendly.
