Well Cottage was a wonderful experience start to finish. The host was excellent- wonderful communication- especially appreciated written instructions upon arrival and lovely cream tea!Very charming, cozy cottage. Well appointed and perfect location to explore the area, Having a parking spot was very valuable! Absolutely would stay again and highly recommend!
Truly full of character! Lovely cottage very close to Windrush, but tucked away from crowds. We drove in to Bourton so we very much appreciated the parking on premises. We were a bit concerned about the absence of A/C but it was completely unnecessary!
This was a great cottage to base yourself in the Cotswold’s. The two minute walk to the village was a great feature of this cottage as well as the parking spot. I enjoyed the fire and the beautiful surrounds. I would recommend a stay.
We had a great few days. Location is outstanding. Really enjoyed toasting some bread that was given to us upon arrival along with some homemade marmalade and eating it around the fireplace. You cannot go wrong staying here.
Well cottage is delightful and has the benefit of off-street parking - very important in Bourton. It is in a perfect location, being very close to the centre of the village but in a quiet road. The property was spotlessly clean, well-equipped and as such had everything I needed for a relaxing break. The owner is very hands on and nothing was too much trouble. I enjoyed the fruit, cheese and biscuits that were provided!I would definitely recommend this property.
Location, location, location! If you have read anything about Bourton-On-The-Water, you know it is a very popular village for visitors, but this charming cottage is set on a quiet residential street where you will not even notice any tourists. It is perfectly situated to enjoy effortless access to the high street where you can find restaurants and shops and soak in all the atmosphere of the beautiful village. Add in the dedicated parking space and it was perfect. I could not have asked for more. I booked a one month getaway just before Christmas and it was a wonderfully relaxing stay! The cottage is very quaint with beamed ceilings and stone walls. The décor is curated to give the full Cotswold feeling. The host even decorated the cottage for the holidays. It is so charming that passersby would stop and take photos of the outside. Most important to me, the cottage was clean and tidy. The host was lovely. She was responsive and helpful if I needed anything. I felt welcomed like a friend. I am already thinking about my next booking!
Thoughtfully appointed historical period home. Amazing fireplace which was all set for easy use. Home it situated within steps of an abundance of dining and shopping choices. Best of all there is a dedicated parking spot.
Couldn't have been happier with our decision to stay at Well Cottage. It was delightfully decorated, comfortable, and in an ideal location. The host, Dawn, couldn't have been more helpful in addition to being incredibly friendly. We loved every thing about the cottage!
Well Cottage was the perfect place to spend our time in the Cotswolds. Bette has thought of everything to make this a home away from home. The cottage located is in a quiet neighborhood with just a short walk to the shops and restaurants in the village. The accommodation are the quintessential English cottage.
well-equipped cottage, short walking distance to town
ideal cottage and location to village of Bourton on the Water, bus transportation, restaurants and places to visit (walking distance to maze, Bird Land, Model Village). Cottage owner was helpful and attended to our questions quickly. Couldn't have found more perfect accommodations for our two-week stay.
Really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful 16th century cottage. It is conveniently close to the village centre, and several walking paths, which we appreciated.
Bette and Dawn are lovely hosts, and left us homemade jam and bread upon our arrival. Would definitely stay again. Thanks!
We absolutely loved our stay here! Its location is ideal being walking distance to several shops, restaurants, and trails and a great spot to explore the Cotswolds! The cottage was clean, very comfortable, and had every thing we needed to cook, do laundry, etc. Also they had some puzzles and games which was a bonus during our cozy evenings after a busy day of exploration. Highly recommend!
The cottage is cute, quaint and cozy! It is even more beautiful in real and photos don’t do it justice!
The cottage has everything you need, beds are comfortable and the owner is wonderful too checking in per email seeing if everything is okay!
We definitely recommend the Well cottage!
We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful 16th-century cottage. The property is full of character and charm, with many original features that really add to the atmosphere, yet it’s been thoughtfully updated to ensure modern comfort. The cottage was spotlessly clean on arrival, and the beds were extremely comfortable — we slept very well. The shower was excellent, with great water pressure and plenty of hot water. While the bath was a little high, it’s a minor point and didn’t detract from the overall comfort. The location is fantastic — peaceful yet convenient — and we really appreciated the off-street parking. One of the highlights was the lovely cream tea waiting for us when we arrived. It was such a thoughtful and welcoming touch from the hosts.Overall, a delightful place to stay, blending historic charm with modern convenience. We would absolutely return!
Dawn does not miss a single detail in making this cottage more than special. To mention a few key items that made our stay perfect: the linens (!), very comfortable beds, high end equipped kitchen, comfortable furniture to relax on after long hikes in the beautiful countryside, sweet outdoor sitting area - and Dawn as our host! Home was built in 1600’s and thoughtfully preserved with all the modern touches that made our stay very comfortable. The cottage is less than 2 blocks from town and has its own parking space. Town gets busy but what a quiet oasis to come home to! Dawn, thank you for sharing this rare gem!
We absolutely loved our stay at this beautiful cottage in Burton on the Water! It's beautifully located in a quiet area of the village, but very close to the centre with all the shops and restaurants. A perfect spot to explore the Cotswolds, with beautiful walks, but also a really nice cottage to sit back and relax, catch up on reading and sleeping after busy times. Dawn was very kind and made sure everything was perfect. We hope to be able to come back!
Quaint, cozy, comfortable; conveniently located. Excellent base to explore all of the Cotswolds. Kitchen was fully functional. Bathroom shower was fine. Communication was excellent. Garden was beautiful.
Loved our weeklong stay in this authentic Cotswold cottage.
Felt as though we had gone way back in time as far as atmosphere but with all the modern conveniences at hand now. Noticed we preferred to stay in many evenings rather than going out just to imagine living there as actual people had done so long ago. Loved the river flowing with the ducks just a block away. Parking on site a real bonus. Lovely hosts also.
so, so long ago.
I have traveled all my life. This is one of the best places I have ever stayed for cleanliness, ambience, location, and owners going out of the way to make sure my stay was perfect. I can't imagine ever going back and not staying at Well Cottage. It's well worth every penny. Wish I was back there now
We really enjoyed our stay at Well Cottage. The quaint little house is perfectly equipped with everything you need for a relaxing holiday. The location is ideal in the centre of the village, but at the same time completely quiet. Dawn, together with her mother, quickly takes care of all the guests' concerns and emergencies. Highly recommended for a stay in the area, except perhaps for very tall guests who might have problems with the ceiling height.
