Gitgit Waterfall Tours and Activities

The spectacular Gitgit Waterfall is one of Bali’s most popular destinations. Rising 300 metres above sea level and set in a lush tropical landscape, the falls send water cascading down a drop of some 45 metres. Enter near the car park and wander past rice paddies, through aromatic clove plantations and into the rain forest. Once there, you’ll be met not only by friendly local vendors and their families but cooler mountain air and emerald green foliage. Take the staircase down and follow the path until you reach this beautiful waterfall. You can choose to simply wade in the rock pools or climb over the rocks and dip into the water at the base of the falls. There is ample space to sit and meditate or surround yourself in the swirling mists coming off the water. If you’re in need of refreshments or perhaps a bite to eat, there is a restaurant just up the hill.There are several water falls in the area. The main three open to the public are Gitgit Waterfall, Campuhan Waterfall and Story Gitgit Waterfall. Whilst all three have separate parking, they are in close proximity. A word of caution whilst the wild monkeys that come to drink from the falls are charming to look at, they are expert thieves with a passion for designer sunglasses!Situated in the village of Gitgit, the falls are 10 kilometres from Singaraja Town and 70 kilometres from Denpasar. They can be reached by hire car, taxi or bemo (mini bus). Steep steps are a feature of the falls, so appropriate footwear is advisable. The falls are open mornings until early evening and a small admission charge applies.
