Welcome to our home, close to everything in the Smoky Mountains! Alpine Bear Retreat is nestled in the heart of Chalet Village. Conveniently located to downtown Gatlinburg, Ober Mountain Ski Resort, Gatlinburg Bypass and Dollywood. Your days will be filled with endless adventures and boundless excitement.

Enjoy this charming mountain retreat, sleep six with 2-bedrooms, 2-bathrooms, a queen sofa sleeper and a huge balcony, offering comfortable and plush seating for everyone. Spend your evenings grilling with the family or relaxing and enjoy the peaceful serenity of the mountains. Guests often spot bears and other wildlife frolicking out back. This is definitely a preferred hang out area! Upper Alpine Clubhouse and pools are just a short walk away!

Other Things to Note
Please be aware, we are in the mountains, we have bears! While they seem cute and friendly, do not approach the bears, call bears to you, feed the bears, and do not leave trash out. If you are eating on the balcony and bears approach, please take all your food, drinks, and accessories and go indoors. Bears can and will climb onto the balcony for your food, even if you are out there. Do not leave food in your vehicles, (not even Happy Meal crumbs 🥰) bears can open doors and will get into your vehicle and may cause damages. Bears are often in our area; we are very close to the National Park! Keep your doors locked and windows up at all times! As long as you leave the bears alone, they will normally leave you alone and keep to themselves.

Wi-Fi/cable can be unreliable as we are in the mountains. If an outage occurs there is nothing we can do until the cable company is able to fix the issue.

Smoking is prohibited inside the condo and on the back balcony. If you smoke inside, you will be charged an additional cleaning fee. You are welcome to smoke on the front covered patio. Close the door securely so smoke does not enter the condo. You will also be responsible for proper disposal of cigarette butts. Do not “flick” cigarettes on the ground. Nice Stay

The property was clean and well maintained. The location is nice, it’s only about a 15 minute drive to downtown Gatlinburg. The owner was very easy to communicate with and very helpful.

Great Trip!

This was a wonderful home. The location was perfect for everything we wanted to do. The condo was very nice and had that welcoming feeling. The host(s) thought of everything from information that would help on our visit to amenities of home. She was so friendly and genuinely wanted us to be comfortable and have a good time. Will be staying here again!

Beautiful place

Great place and it had everything we needed. The only downside is the curvy road that you must take in and out of the property. This location would not be good for anyone afraid of driving in the mountains. The property is well kept and is a great place to get away from the busy Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge touristy areas!

A perfect spot to relax

We had a great time staying at Alpine Bear! The place is very cozy and the perfect spot to relax. It was neat and well-maintained, providing a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Its proximity to downtown Gatlinburg is a major plus, as there are plenty of activities and attractions nearby to keep you entertained. Highly recommended for a fun and relaxing getaway!

Peaceful stay with Bear Sightings!!!

We enjoyed our stay here so much and hope to return one day in Fall/Spring. The back patio was our favorite…we spent almost every evening grilling and enjoying the shade, and hoping to spot a bear or two. ;-) The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed.

Beary Cozy

absolutely adorable!!! We had a great time. The view was breathtaking. We even encountered a few furry friends on our vacation. The back patio area was the perfect spot to enjoy breakfast, lunch, or dinner. If you want to see bears this is the place to be!

How nice to stay in a condo that made you feel like you were in a lodge with all the comforts of home. We lived in Gatlinburg before and really missed the bears. We saw several and it was always a thrill. Jennifer is such a sweet lady to deal with and you knew she wanted you to be happy being there and we were.

We enjoyed our stay and even saw bears! There was constant communication with the property manager. The condo was nice and represented accurately on the posting. Very pleasant experience! Only drawback is the two flights of stairs with elderly guests was difficult but no ones fault. Next time, I'd book a third floor unit (which is ground level with the parking spots), just didn't know that ahead of time. Thanks for a wonderful trip!

Felt like home

We were only able to stay 2 nights and we were definitely not ready to leave. The condo felt so cozy, warm and had all the comforts of home. Smoky mountain get-away

We had a great stay. I do have a few suggestions. It would be helpful to have a few more items available for cooking, more dishes to use, more toilet paper available for a family of 5 and maybe a few more items available for cooking (different seasonings, oil etc). Also, if the rental has been said to sleep 6 people, make sure the blow-up mattress on the pull-out couch is in working order. Thank you

Comfy and much needed!

The property manager is amazing! Never experienced such kindness and follow through at a stay before. The condo is super comfy and everything you need is there. There are alot of bears in all of the area of Gatlinburg so be aware to keep your doors on cars locked and no food or scents in your vehicle. We watched a bear try to get in my car and go into many vehicles with our own eyes. Take it seriously. Would definitely go back in a heart beat!

Alpine Bear Retreat! Highly recommend this lovely condo!

This was a lovely condo and in a great location. It was very clean and cozy. Our hostess, Jennifer was an exceptional hostess and made sure we were happy with our stay. She is sweet as can be. She also went over and beyond for us. The condo is close to many attractions in town. We loved being in Gatlinburg close to everything such as the attractions, good places to eat, and lots of sightseeing especially to waterfalls/mountains, but being able to take the Gatlinburg bypass to the condo to avoid the traffic in the area was the best. We absolutely had a great time at this beautiful place. We can’t wait to return again one day.

Perfect Get Away!

This was the perfect get away for my family. The condo was modern and clean with plenty of room for 6 people with every amenity needed. I arrived in town early and Jennifer was able to make sure it was cleaned and ready for me earlier than the check in time. She was a wonderful host from the minute I made the reservation. She was available by text or phone call within minutes of me asking a question. We enjoyed sitting on the back deck and being ground level especially when the bears came out to play or just cruise through the property. Even though we did visit other areas to see the bears, there really isn't a need to do that.
