Stroll through the historic city centre where brick buildings house craft breweries, boutiques, and the acclaimed Civil War museum. Visit in spring when Carroll Creek's water lilies bloom and outdoor cafés fill with locals enjoying live music along the promenade.
I enjoy visiting Frederick, especially its public parks. It has downtown areas that are somewhat pedestrian-friendly, but much of the city is connected by highways and too spread-out, which makes it difficult for me to get around.

Frederick is a neat place to visit for its parks, special events, and commercial areas, but the city feels too spread out to me whenever I visit. You must take the highway just to traverse parts of the city.
