"Very friendly staff in reception gave a great welcome to a very clean and well stocked room although no Yorkshire tea 😮. Bed was comfy and there was a great shower, much needed after a day in the hills. My only gripe is when you switch off the lights you realise that the mighty eye of Sauron is still burning away. The fire exit light in the room entrance is way too bright. People had obviously tried to reduce it (mine had a fetching Mr Bump sticker over it) but the light just still comes through as if it’s part of the hadron collider. Otherwise…a great stay!!"

"Beautiful location, quaint little spot. I would give it 4 1/2 stars but I didn’t get a wink sleep because the mattresses were less comfortable than sleeping on the ground in a tent. It wasn’t even what I would call a mattress. The double bed was actually two twin box springs pushed together. Unbelievable that such a beautiful and quaint hotel wouldn’t spend a little bit of money making sure their guests got a comfortable night sleep"

"Excellent guest house, in a wonderful and convenient location. The breakfast is excellent, with an enormous choice. Everything delicious. The views are also terrific. The only reason I haven't given 5 stars is because our room (room 1) had wafer thin walls. We were woken up by the couple next door talking. I don't think they were talking that loudly, but it felt like they were on the end of our bed ! This is such a shame as everything else is excellent. "

"Front desk staff is rude and you do their entire job on an iPad. Construction is extremely intrusive. "

"Pillows are really bad, one bed light was broken and just hanging, bathroom mirror was aimed at the floor and wouldn’t stay up, towel heater barely warm in parts. Hallway had a musty smell, not as strong in the room. "

"Trouble with the door lock box requiring assistance several times leading to placement of new lock box. Difficulty with door lock. Gentleman on site was very helpful. Bathroom needs upgrading. Water mixer didn't seem to work well. Heater was unique to us. A whiteboard on the wall, worked well. Liked the pine wallboards. Location was a bit difficult to find. Enjoyed out one night stay!"
