"The Fantastic Hotel was unlike any hotel I have ever stayed in. First, the Plus side: the taxi ride from the airport cost $ 25 USD. The gentleman working the front desk was exceptionally pleasant in English, French and Spanish. I got to meet his wife and kids and they were all very nice. The hotel was exceptionally quiet, the pool was very clean and refreshing. The elevator was very fast and quiet – my room # 305 was quite small, but adequate, with a queen-size bed, table with 2 chairs, small fridge, and small bathroom. It was a simple, slightly downhill 25 minute walk to downtown, past houses, a couple of schools and a sports complex; a pleasant stroll. I felt safe in the daytime and at night. On the Minus side: There was no service at the hotel except housekeeping – which was very good – but you couldn’t get any food or drink at all, even though there were signs indicating otherwise. All in all – the hotel, location, etc was a good choice for me as I like to explore places on foot. It is definitely not a tourist hot spot, but was good value for the $ 125 a night I paid. Don’t let anyone tell you they exchange USD at par with the Euro in Marigot. Everywhere I went the rate ranged from 1:15 to 1:21 USD per Euro. Would I return to the Fantastic Hotel? As a single traveller I would, but if my wife came I would stay closer to the downtown area."

"It was great overall. Enjoyed walking to Baie Rouge beach, dinners at Mezza Luna and Ma Ti Beach, with exceptional staff. Transport is a must if you want to explore more of the Dutch side."

"Perfect little spot with privacy and very color coordinated setting the vibe. Amenities were great, iw as able to cook my own food, use the pool and soak up some sun at the beach in the back yard. Couldn't have been happier."

"The property was excellent and as pictured with 3 full bed rooms. The hosts were exceptional in helping us get to the apartment and navigate around town. It is important to be aware that this apartment is not at the address listed. It is about a 30 min walk down hill to the center of town or a taxi ride $10-$20. Having said that we would stay again…. Just we would have rented a car (there is a parking spot) or utilized the taxi provider from the host from the start of the trip."

"What a super great place. Our host Julia met us at the building, and showed us everything we needed to know. The unit sits right above a very nice little beach - no sargassum! Great value. Can't wait to stay there again."

"The setting is amazing! Waking up to the sound of the waves every morning is priceless! The beach chairs and umbrella was nice....a small cooler would be nice...we couldn't fit much in the insulated lunch bag. A Kuerig would be a nice upgrade along with a microwave. We did enjoy our meals out on the balcony though. Housekeeping did show up 1 1/2 hours before check out while in the shower. A small inconvenience to get out of the shower to answer the door. Over all....nice stay."

"If you are looking for a place that is directly on the water with beach and pool access, this place is ideal. In addition, we were able to walk to several excellent restaurants with beach views. There is also a French bakery in walking distance with an excellent selection of breakfast and lunch options. Our host was excellent. She made certain we had everything we needed, which made our visit very memorable."

"This is fantastic spot on SXM. Walk to awesome beaches - Friars annd Happy, around the corner (20 min) from Grand Case and beautifully situated for the evening sunset.The villa was well laid out, both bedrooms were of equal form and function. Kitchen had everything you needed. We loved outdoor dining overlooking the pool.The turtles and visiting iguanas were welcome guests.Thanks!"
