You can't beat the location of this quaint, vintage hotel. It's close to everything, being ~150m to the Ponte Vecchio, and about a 10 minute walk from the Santa Maria Novella train station, 10 min walk to the Duomo, and 10 min walk to Pitti Palace. The hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating, and a nice breakfast was included in the room rate.
The rooms were spacious by European standards and comfortable for a family of 4. The only detractor here was the noise (as mentioned in other reviews). Due to the positioning of the buildings, stone construction and narrow alleyways, everything echos (cars, groups of people, construction, etc.). Work crews were doing construction in the alleyway outside, setting up staging beginning at around 6:30-7:00 am, which sounded like bells as the pipes knocked together. This helped us get an early start for sure. That said, hotel staff were very accommodating and able to move us to an interior room that was more quiet.
