Not the most "luxurious experience" but for the price exceptionally safe and accessible. We were able to leave our luggage in the common area before and after check in and felt very comfortable doing so. In a very useful location in the city. Would stay again. A very nice touch was the walk out terrace with views overlooking the city.

Great location near markets and restaurants. Close to train station so it’s easy to move in and out of the city from there. Hotel is very clean and cozy and the staff is friendly. Definitely recommended.

Location was great. Staff was so friendly. I misplaced my sunglasses in room and cleaning services found it and brought back to me before I left hotel. So very honest. Hotel allowed us to leave our bags and come back to use washroom and sit in lobby as well. Meal options was also great and food was so tasty. Wished we stayed longer

The staff was excellent and the hotel was only a few minutes walk away from SMN train station and major attractions such as the Medici Palace and Chapel and Il Duomo. Excellent restaurants and bars were just seconds away from the hotel (we particularly enjoyed the service and food at Trattoria Katti right across the street). The hotel was undergoing renovations which will make the rooms beautiful when they’re done! We had a few problems with the room; the toilet did not flush properly for the 8 nights we were there, the floor was uneven and the bathroom door would not close properly. The staff was very attentive and addressed our concerns as quickly as possible but the room needed some work. The front of the street is quite noisy at night so the hotel gladly gave us a room in the back away from the noise and we never noticed a thing. The breakfast buffet had everything you wanted but the booths were awkward to get into and the coffee machine kept running out of coffee. Overall we really enjoyed our stay. The staff was EXCELLENT and the location was fabulous. When the rooms are updated this will be a premium hotel and a bargain at the current price!

The hotel is old and not clean. They are renovating it, and the noise is quite bothersome. No sunlight enters the room, and the toilet flushing is very noisy reaching from the surrounding rooms. Breakfast was good

Hotel Rex is ideally located for a few days in Florence. The main attractions are very walkable, for south of the river it is around 30 minutes. We had a lovely welcome from the staff and they had baggage storage as we were early for our check in. A nice continental breakfast selection available too. The street of the hotel is lively with bars and restaurants. This might put some quieter travelers off, but we were happy endulging in the €3.50 spritz and apretivio. The rooms and amenities are rustic, but all working properly and still very clean. The pros of it's location and service certainly outweighed the room conditions for us. Overall, a lovely stay in Florence. Thank you!

Clean, friendly staff, great location

Nice hotel, good location, and very clean. But very busy and noisy at night but its Italy! My only complaint is that there was no blind or black-out curtains on the window. The curtains were a light linen. There was no direct sun shining into the room, however with all the lights on in the evening, it made the room a bit too light at night. I would recommend that you request a room in the back of the building. Breakfast was great, nice variety, something for everyone.
