Merging a bright, modern future with the modest beauty of its past, Kuala Lumpur is a city that appeals to a variety of travellers. Cheap flights to Kuala Lumpur are relatively easy to find, as the mild climate beckons numerous tourists to stroll the Lake Gardens Park, indulge in the exciting nightlife of the Golden Triangle, and find peace at the Buddhist Maha Vihar.
Best time to go to Kuala Lumpur
If you like to socialise while on holiday, Kuala Lumpur is a great time to visit from December to January, and June to August. Schools let out during these periods, making it easier for visitors to interact with the friendly locals at such places as the Neway karaoke bar, the Old Town Kopitiam cafe, and the Soda Club.
The shoulder season in Kuala Lumpur falls from February to March, then again in September to October. Tourism is thin during the majority of these months, but increases during the KL International Tattoo Show in September and City Day in February. Despite this, these months are great for exploring Chinatown, Zoo Negara, and the Menara KL tower in relative peace.
Inexpensive flights to Kuala Lumpur are easy to find in the months of April, May, and November. Although tourists still hang around during these times, crowds are harder to come by. As the weather is beautiful a good deal of the time, these are excellent months to mingle with fellow tourists at nearby Port Dickson, or spend some time volunteering at SPCA Selangor.
Kuala Lumpur Airport and transfer information
One of the most economical methods of ground transport is the airport's Express Coach service. Though inexpensive, this service can take up to an hour to arrive in the city. A quicker, if slightly more expensive, option is the KLIA Ekspres train, which takes roughly 28 minutes. For a higher rate, you can also take a taxi or rent a car.
