My 14 year old son, dog and myself escaped Sydney to Twin Oaks last weekend. The weather reached a top of 8 degrees on the Saturday and 3 degrees overnight, but the cottage was warm and cosy with heating in every room!!
On arrival, the cottage had supplied fresh eggs, a bottle of champagne (which I took home to enjoy with my husband), and some carrots for the horses.
In particular we enjoyed the tennis court, the free-range chooks, the 3 horses over the back fence (we even bought an extra bag of carrots at Kangaroo Valley), the paddocks and Milo the choccy Lab.
Our dog much enjoyed sniffing and romping about the property and exploring with Milo!
My only negative would be that the perimeter of the property is not entirely dog-proof as a couple of the fences are post and rail and easily snuck through by curious pups! The rest is securely fenced however.
Kate was lovely and very obliging, and we had a lot of privacy despite being relatively close to the main house.
Highly recommended for a relaxing and peaceful stay!
