  • Dover, England, is a major port for ferries to Calais, France. The White Cliffs of Dover form part of the English coastline facing the Strait of Dover and France. The cliff face, which reaches a height of 350 feet (110 m), owes its striking appearance to its composition of chalk accented by streaks of black flint. The cliffs, on both sides of the town of Dover in Kent, stretch for eight miles (13 km). June 2017

Simply fabulous

The cottage is well equipped, comfortable and cosy. We particularly enjoyed the efficient log burner which took the chill off the glorious autumnal days we were happy to experience. The location is excellent. The Plough in the village has excellent food and drink and friendly and efficient staff. It is only a few minutes walk away from the property. We visited Whitstable, Herne Bay, Reculver, Faversham Quay and Canterbury all of which are within 40 minutes. These provided access to a coastline with character, historical interest and fantastic food. Lobster, mussels and monkfish on consecutive days. Bliss.
