"We spent one night at Welcome Holiday Homes while driving around Iceland. The unit had a spacious living area with a well-appointed kitchen. The bedroom was on the small side but good enough for a short stay. The pillows and quilts were small and not very warm. An upgrade to the bedding would add comfort to the stay. I suspect the location would be ideal for viewing the northern lights but we did not get to see them due to full cloud coverage."

"It is a very clean and quiet place. Close to some locations. Recommended if you are staying for two or three days. My only recommendation would be a laundry facility to make washing clothes easier, since it is a stopover hotel for travelers heading to other towns."

"Pros: private entrance to our room as well as through main reception area, good breakfast buffet included, cozy room. Cons: the shower is coated in black paint or material of some kind to emulate the look of a volcano. However, the black hides the fact that either mold or mildew is growing quite a bit in the shower and is not being by cleaned / maintained properly. Everything else was clean and lovely, but mold/mildew needs to be addressed in the shower. Also the hotel is about 10 miles outside of Vik proper - we thought it would be closer as the address said Vik."
