"The hotel is in a very convenient location close to the city centre and cathedral. It is a historic building but we stayed in the fairly modern extension, which was a nice, spacious room with good facilities for tea and coffee etc. Breakfast was plentiful and you could order from a good range of cooked options including full English. Staff were friendly and helpful."

"Managed free overnight parking opposite. Worked well combined with family visit. Had a quiet en-suite room plus a bathtub. What a treat. Offerred lots choices for breakfast - standard cost for all options. All the staff I met were lovely. Very friendly and it felt more like a family business than merely ‘corporate’."

"Free Breakfast was really good. Food was hot and fresh. Staff was always available to answer questions. Our room was very comfortable and updated. Clean with daily service. A pub is part of the hotel. It was always full. No noise could be heard upstairs in our room. If you want a feel of old english....stay here. We will stay again when we come back. The price was worth the stay."

"Our deluxe room felt more like a bunker in the basement. Really not what we expected for the price. The bathroom in the room had no door, offering absolutely no privacy. To top things off, my partner suffered food poisoning. Avoid."
