Willow Cottage - Central Ely

Willow Cottage is a charming two bedroomed detached cottage situated in the centre of the historic Cathedral City of Ely. It is located just a few minutes walk from all the local attractions including the Cathedral, Bishops Palace and Oliver Cromwell's House. There are many great pubs, restaurants and shops all just a short stroll from the cottage. The cottage is finished to a high standard and has the luxury of a dishwasher and washing machine.
Ely railway station is also within easy walking distance providing regular services to Cambridge (20 minutes) and London (75 minutes). The horse racing town of Newmarket is just a short 25 minute drive. There are several National Trust sites within easy reach by car.

Furnished to a high standard the accommodation comprises: Spacious dining room with seating for four. Well equipped kitchen with oven, induction hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. Sitting room with beamed ceiling and original fireplace. Two bedrooms, one with double bed and one with zip and link beds which can be set as two small singles or one king size (please advise of preference at time of booking). Shower room with walk in shower, toilet and wash basin. Off road private parking for two small or one large car. Courtyard garden with furniture.
Free WiFi and smart TV A range of books, DVD's and games available.
Pets considered - prior agreement only- please enquire for prices.
Hairdryer and complimentary toiletries provided for your convenience.
To make your stay as easy as possible we also provide complimentary tea and coffee, dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid and basic cleaning products, so all you have to do is turn up!
Minimum stay of 3 nights. Discounts may be available for bookings of 7 nights or more. Please enquire for details.

There is no Electric Vehicle charger fitted at the cottage, and our insurance does not allow electric car charging from standard sockets. Guests are advised that charging points are available at Newnham Street Car Park (100 yards away) or at both Sainsbury's and Tesco. Fast charging points are currently being installed at the BP garage on the A142 just outside Ely. These are due to be open in July 2024.

Covid-19 - we would like to reassure guests that the cottage is thoroughly cleaned following every stay. We also provide alcohol hand gel and cleaning products for your peace of mind and complimentary dishwashing tablets so you can clean any dishes or cookware before use if you wish.

The cottage was really lovely and is in a great location. We were really comfortable there and slept well. Great communication with Tracey. Also great to have parking onsite, though a dropped kerb might make it a little easier. Overall, really happy and would stay again!

Willow Cottage is a wonderful property close to the town centre. Very well equipped with a cute little garden area. Parking at the property and easy access.

Fantastic pre arrival contact with owner, who were exceptionally helpful. House was great, suited our needs perfectly. Very central, easy walking distance to shops, cathedral, or if eating out. Clear and precise instructions on how everything worked EG: shower, heating etc. Would definitely stay here again. Loved it!

A really lovely , well equipped property in a great location , we can’t recommend it highly enough. A problem with the television was quickly resolved by the owner who could not have been more helpful. We will be staying again !!

Excellent on every level

Excellent property- spotlessly clean and very well equipped. Dedicated parking space right outside the door, so really easy to unload. Within walking distance of everywhere we wanted to go, so the car stayed where it was! We appreciated the thoughtfulness that went into making it a comfortable place to be- even if we didn't have time to read the books or play the games they contributed to making the place more like a home We are already looking forward to our next visit to Ely and we will be certainly booking Willow Cottage again

Perfectly located for sightseeing and special occasions

We booked for a special occasion and the cottage was perfectly located to walk to our venue - Ely Cathedral. The cottage was lovely and clean with everything we needed. My only regret is that the weather prevented us from seeing the cottage in the warm sunshine. The owners were wonderfully helpful when we had a little hiccup with the hot water - coming over to help despite it being a Friday night. Thank you to them. We enjoyed our stay and the location of the cottage allowed us to get out and about easily - either shopping or sightseeing.

Ely - Ist Stop

Willow Cottage was our first stop on a 5-week holiday in UK/Ireland. We found the cottage amazing & suited our needs perfectly. We parked our car when we got there & did not move it until we left. We could walk to everywhere we wanted to go, even to the railway station to catch a train into Cambridge for the day. (Punt on the River Cam) The Ely Cathedral is a must see. We recommend a 50yard walk to The High-Flyer Pub for a meal. We will highly recommend Willow Cottage to anyone we talk to. Disappointing.

Host was impossible to contact as she was away travelling so, when we had a problem understanding how the cooker worked she was unavailable. The manual explaining how everything in the cottage worked was tucked away in a dresser draw in the living room. Other than this, the rest of the holiday was very enjoyable. Cottage located in a very central spot.

Perfect city location

Willow Cottage is beautifully decorated and fully equipped with everything you’d need. The shower in the bathroom is very good and both bedrooms are a decent size. The kitchen is excellent and the rear courtyard’s an absolute delight for those warmer evenings with a glass of wine.The cottage was spotlessly clean.Ely is a very vibrant city, with lots to do all within walking distance. Shops, Cathedral, river, restaurants and railway station are all easily accessed.We had an excellent stay and Tracey is a wonderful, caring host.
