Bait and switch. Charged us for a balcony room at a luxury hotel. Gave us a room at a basic, no frills hotel at a different that would have cost half as much if I had booked it directly, but charged us full price plus premium for balcony.

The property is described online as offering beautiful fjord view. We were very disappointed to find upon arrival that a cruise ship was docked right outside the hotel which completely obscured the fjord view from guest rooms and the hotel dining room. It departed around 8:00 pm, but we awoke at 7:30 the next morning to find another cruise ship had taken its place. Very unfortunate…

WORST hotel in entire country
OLD low-end hotel that caters to HUGE int'l tour groups, so place is always overrun. Carpets stink, furniture is old, smelly & stained, No real bed, just crappy saggy pull-out mattress that will ruin your back. Shower only has HALF a plastic panel so it FLOODS entire bathroom - which they Know, but instead of fixing it they give you a mop! Breakfast very mediocre, but this is the only place to eat in this tiny village, so they charge 625 NOK ($65 USD) for the crappiest buffet you've ever seen. Surroundings are beautiful but we could not see anything from our room in the annex (despite booking MONTHS ahead). The rest of our Norway trip was wonderful with excellent hotels. This was a huge DISAPPOINTMENT. AVOID this dump

It would’ve been 4 stars but I’m giving 3 stars because there was a cruise ship parked right outside the hotel till 7pm the day we checked in. It felt like as if the people in the cruise could actually peek into our room they were that close! The service was great by the lovely lady who checked us in. She had apologised in advance for the cruise ship being parked up front as well. Rooms: Good size, room design is quite basic and old school but adequate. Toiletries were basic too. Room View: Once the cruise ship left the view was breathtaking! We booked a room with the fjord view and a balcony. It was great! Location: location is very convenient. It’s the centre of Eidsfjord with a couple of supermarkets closeby and few restaurants serving chicken/ vegetarian options as well. The Voringfoss waterfall is about 20 mins by car. Don't think public transportation to the waterfall is easy. We had a car and the property provided free parking. Breakfast: Free breakfast is included, the spread was adequate. The pancakes were good.

Beautiful area until the cruise Ships arrive. Not much around as far as restaurants and shopping. Quite little town with not much to do.
