"This is a superb hotel. We stayed for 4 nights in December and enjoyed ourselves tremendously. The prison conversion has been accomplished to a very high standard with loads of original features incorporated: cast iron stairs, the chapel and even an isolation cell. The rooms were warm and comfortable, being decorated to a high standard. Breakfast was included at our rate and proved to be excellent with plenty of choice, including Finnish specialities. We ate dinner at the hotel on 2 occasions as it was included and suited our plans. It was a buffet and perfectly pleasant, but not exceptional. Fika (afternoon tea and cake) was a lovely touch and very welcome on a cold day. Staff were friendly, helpful and naturally spoke faultless English. The number 4 tram stops right outside and takes you directly to the city centre at least every 7 minutes. "

"The room was very small. No one on site to ask for clean towels etc. Plus they text you when your room is ready very late 3 to 4pm. Very difficult to get to talk with someone. Good location near metro and grocery store but 15mins from city center. Safe neighborhood."

"The best place ever. Location is fantastic. I was in the female dorm. Huge windows with beautiful curtains and wonderful views. Coffee tea on the floor. Huge place to sit (dining as well as sofas etc) and relax, read. Plenty of books. Fridge to store food. On the 1st floor kitchen with fridge. I was at the hostel only for 1 night but I used the amenities and enjoyed the island emmensly. Big store a few steps away with baked goods, groceries, prepared food, frozen food, fresh veggies and fruits. "
