"Dinner was delicious and so was the breakfast. It feels like a resort with a wonderful view of the lake from our room. Staff was very helpful."

"Easy to find and get in. Cozy private room. Has a kitchenette with cooktop and mini fridge and bathroom. Small dining table, chairs and a desk. Though no vent for when frying. No microwave. It would be nice if the coat rack was moved next to the window and a TV in its place to whine down though. Be sure to grab what you need for the evening as there’s really nothing near by."

Guesthouse Svartiskógur Egilsstaðir

Guesthouse Svartiskógur Egilsstaðir

10/10 Excellent
"Room was very comfortable with a full kitchen! Parking was right outside our room. Camping spots are available as well. Property is not where hotels.com states. It is a good 30-40 minutes away from the town, off the main road and then about 5 miles on a dirt road. I had to call for directions because the map on hotels.com took me to an empty farm field. Restaurant is available but make sure to come early as it’s served until 8:30pm. Actually everything in town closes early. So don’t wait to eat in this town if you’re coming in late. Couldn’t find any food at 9:30pm. Breakfast was small and just cold items. Staff was great. Good property overall!"

Seyðisfjörður Guesthouse

10/10 Excellent
"We travelled mid- September. We really enjoyed our stay. The location was very convenient for walking the town or accessing hiking trails. The view from the guesthouse is fabulous. The host was on site when we arrived and back again in the morning which was nice. The kitchen and eating area were fabulous. We had the opportunity to do our laundry. We had a room upstairs and there was one WC and a separate shower area. There was a second shower downstairs. Bonus points for a great coffee machine so I could start the day with a cappuccino."

"The hotel was super clean, comfortable and the staff friendly. The breakfast was good but dinner was not so good. Not worth what they are charging. I recommend staying here but eat dinner somewhere else."
