Michelle at reception went above and beyond she was absolutely amazing and made sure our difficult requests were catered for"

"This is a gem. An old established property that has been restored and upgraded to a very good standard, whilst retaining its essential character and sense of history and place. The location has stunning views - from our room, we had truly beautiful views to Bass Rock, Isle of May and towards Dunbar Castle and harbour. Excellent amenities in the room, with good quality tea, coffee and other refreshments. The staff were all wonderful - attentive, polite and efficient. The breakfast was first class and during our short stay we had two evening meals that quite simply were superb - every dish cooked to perfection and presented tastefully (pardon the pun). Could I nitpick? Probably. Would it be justified? Definitely not. This was a short stay of the highest quality and will live long in the mind as one of our most pleasant memories. Thank you to everyone."

"On the night we were staying the hotel had to cope with a power cut covering quite a large area surrounding it. They dealt with it very well and served us all a perfectly acceptable menu of cold items. All the staff were positive and helpful and created a very friendly and fun atmosphere….well done to the whole team!"
