Luxury cottage in Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park
Appletree Cottage is a spacious, bright, recently purpose-built luxury self catering lodge set in the peaceful and spectacular surroundings of Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park. Sleeping up to 8 people in four bedrooms - each with its own shower, wash basin and WC, Appletree features a large and living space full of natural daylight with huge picture windows looking southwards across open countryside to the Kilpatrick Hills, 4 miles distant.
Eco Friendly the cottage (EPC band B) is well insulated. Hot water and heating is powered by a district heating biomass boiler which uses locally sourced sustainable timber. There is a wood burning stove for added cheer in the winter.
Mobility impaired users will find easy access to the ground floor living space and adjoining ground floor en-suite bedroom and patio as they are all on one level There is ample space to turn a wheelchair(please see separate details)
Set in its own private garden cottage has a south facing private patio accessible through a huge glass sliding door from the living space for alfresco dining.
Children (but not pets, as we keep the cottage clear for allergy sufferers) are welcome and we can provide a travel cot, high chair and toddler chair if required.
This is the perfect spot to sit back and engage in some wildlife spotting and even better, you wont have to go far to see some of Scotland’s rarer and iconic animals and birds within the national park. Also popular with star gazers as the skies are dark with no nearby street lighting.
Although in a rural setting Appletree is ideal for exploring Glasgow, Stirling, Loch Lomond and the Trossachs.

Great house with friendly hosts. The house and location are beautiful. Murray and Alli are kind with great recommendations. They were considerate of our school aged kids and we felt very welcomed.
We really enjoyed our stay at Appletree Cottage. Murray and Ali are great hosts and the property is very well equipped/presented. You'll be sure to enjoy a relaxing break in this little slide of paradise!
Appletree Cottage makes a great home base to explore Loch Lomond and Glasgow! We rented a car and made lots of day trips to explore the area. Alli and Murray were very welcoming and helpful with their instructions and recommendations. And beautiful Scotland exceeded our expectations!
Photos truly don’t do this place justice. We absolutely loved our stay and are seriously considering coming back. The rooms were spacious, beautifully maintained, and everything felt either brand new or in excellent condition. The hosts were available if needed, but everything was so well organised we never had to reach out. The views were stunning, and the location was perfect—close to shops and local attractions. Highly recommended!
This cottage is amazing - great layout, very clean and surrounded by beautiful views of the countryside. It is centrally located for day trips to Edinburgh, Glasgow, Stirling, Pitlochry, St Andrews, etc. and the best thing is that after a full day of fun, it was great to come back to a quiet luxury retreat!
Murray and Alli were awesome hosts - they provided great information, tips for traveling in the area and were very quick to respond when we had questions.
Our group consisted of my mother in law 80+, husband, son, his wife and our 6 month old grandson. This cottage worked well for all ages. High chair and portable crib were provided and worked out perfectly.
We plan to visit again and will definitely stay here. It's so beautiful, functional and convenient!

Great few days away with the family
Spotlessly clean and well equipped, spacious, warm and comfortable. The owners could not have been more helpful and gave us lot of tips to enjoy the local area.
Absolutely amazing stay at Appletree. Murray and Ally couldn’t be more helpful, even helping us out after a puncture and shuttling us to the house. The cottage is sparkling clean and has everything you need, great local info from hosts on restaurants and activities. We stayed for 1 week and could’ve easily stayed longer, the weather was excellent and we enjoyed the garden in the morning and early evening. Local pubs and restaurants a short walk or taxi away. It was an absolute pleasure to stay and enjoy everything the cottage has to offer.
Very good standard of accommodation. Very comfortable beds, bright and airy lounge area with high windows. Very rural location. Quiet but no pubs/restaurants within walking distance. Would recommend for a large group (8 adults).
We had a lovely stay, the house is beautiful & the photos perfectly reflect the property & the grounds. The local area is stunning & it is so close to Glasgow. The EV charger was an added bonus. I would happily recommend this property to my fiends & family.
Cottage exactly as presented. Well designed, warm and a great retreat, whilst still being accessible to amenities. Good location to climb Ben Lomond. Owners very helpful about resources in the area. We had a great Sunday lunch at the Old Mill in Killearn. Thankyou we had a lovely relaxing weekend
The property was perfect for our needs of spending some quality time together in a more than comfortable environment. Each of us had our own bedroom and bathroom with large, comfortable beds and excellent showers.
The log burning fire and amazing countryside views made staying inside a luxury.
The many walks and country pubs nearby kept us entertained. Boating on Loch Lomond was less than 15 mins away.
Finally, we must mention our accommodating hosts, Murray and Ali who were there to welcome us and help throughout our stay. From electric car charging points to borrowing rice & purchasing more logs. Thank you!!

schönes großes Ferienhaus neueren Baujahres mit ausreichend Platz für unsere mitreisenden 3 Parteien. Gut fanden wir die vielen Bäder. Mitten in der Natur mit tollem Ausblick. Nette und hilfsbereite Vermieter, die uns sogar ein Paar Snacks für den ersten Abend vorbereitet haben und viele Ausflugstipps gegeben haben. Guter Ausgangspunkt für Ausflüge am Loch Lomond. Der Urlaub war sehr schön hier, würden wieder kommen

Thoroughly recommend this property for a chilled out of the way stay with beautiful scenery, very quiet location and yet close to Loch Lomond and other beauty spots.
The property was first class. It was extremely well equipped and in a beautiful location. There was nothing that we did not enjoy. Definitely recommend !

Amazing property set in a stunning location, within a 10 minute drive to Loch Lomond. Top end quality, stunning views and fully equipped home with everything you could wish for. The Appletree cottage is perfect!
We had a great stay at Appletree Cottage- the hosts were lovely and the cottage was spotless and had everything we could need for a great stay. It’s also nicely located so that getting to Balmaha and Balloch are both easy car journeys- we would definitely stay there again!
